“Well, so far it is tracking NW. Unless it breaks East soon, it looks to come in along the AL/MS state line. That would put Eastern Shore on the East eyewall.

If it continues to track west as it has, it could come in as far west as Bay St.Louis, MS. Not good for Hattiesburg.

Yes it will. Keep in mind that I am more than 120 miles from where Frances came ashore and it screwed up our city for over a week. Spend your time trimming limbs and picking up anything that the wind will make into a missle.

“IIRC, the last big hurricane to come ashore on the Redneck Riviera was Frederic, and it wasn't much once it got here. There will be some big thunderstorms, possibly tornados, and maybe some flooding though.”

“yeah, the storm is roughly 400 miles wide, tip to tip. Now the really bad stuff is only about 70 miles wide and less bad stuff is 250 miles wide or so, but yeah, you will see significant impact all the way into TN with this one.

Frances had a HUGE impact all the way into NC causing landslides on teh Blue Ridge Parkway and washing houses off their foundation in the Mt Mitchell area.

Hurricanes are NOT to be messed with.
