You'd expect some comment from Fox about it being a punishment from God for demeaning the Presidency.,\

"The office of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the president's wife, said that the senator is upstate and not with the former president at this time."

Now that is love.

Let's hope he makes it...

…at least until mid-October when we can have a week long 24 hour per day state funeral, Kerry can portray himself as Clinton's political heir, and Crawford regains it's idiot on the sympathy vote.

How's that for respect?

Hey, Bubba's funeral plans are already made, as are all Presidents before they take office.

He has the legal (yes, it is law) right to a State funeral and it can go past as many McDonald's restaurants as he wants. More power to him for milking his final moments.

Or would that be a shake?

I hope, as I would for the sake of any man, that he pulls through.

If I was cynical (who me) . . .I would wonder about the timing of this announcement . . .

Nothing like the nostalgic concern for great president like Clinton to drive the W. crap off the front page!

Between Clinton, Frances and the school in Checeneyaya W. will be lucky in the RNC makes the comic page in tomorrows paper!

Right lee!

He will hold on, making front page news until the Monday before the election, then the will croke.

The nations will feel sorry for the man and elect Kerry.

Then we can all blame Clinton all over again for #&%!$ing up the country.

I'll thank him for saving it, thank you very much. Anything to keep Bush out. And no, I don't respect Clinton for his personal antics before you throw that in my face. Ok, flame-on.

I can't respect him for his antics either, I mean. The frikken prez of the US can't acquire intern hotties to have sex with?

WTF is up with that. I mean, did you see the washingtonian web blog hottie? Wow!

If I was Prez I'd be surrounded by internationl hotties- my own "Piece Corps"!

If/When I got caught - oh well. At least they were hot!

I seems strange doesn't it. The compassionate conservatives are taking it more serious than the Kerrites.

BTW, having been through the surgery they are talking about, I certainly wish him the best, and think there there is much reason for optimisim.

I'm taking it seriously - as a human he deserves our compassion and prayers for a good recovery. As a President he did a good job. Just saying his personal life leaves a lot wanting. I wasn't trying to start a flame war, either (hate them). I just know that there are some around here that would do some flaming, based on my comment. Glad to see no one has. Yet.

WEST ALLIS, Wisconsin President Bush is sending former President Clinton "best wishes for a swift and smooth recovery."

At a state fairgrounds rally in Wisconsin, the president told backers Clinton is in America's thoughts and prayers -- as he faces heart bypass surgery in a New York hospital.

Many in Bush's audience booed when Clinton's name was mentioned. The president made no comment on that and continued with his rally speech.

In June, Bush invited the former president and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to the White House for the unveiling of their official portraits. Bush praised his predecessor as a man of knowledge and compassion who has "the forward-looking spirit that Americans like in a president."

Phaedrus,

Thanks for pointing out again the media's extreme liberal bias. The story was retracted almost immediately. There are plenty of links to both the audio and video out there now and anyone can see for themselves that noone was booing Clinton.

Maybe the libs will start to figure out how much the media is lying to them now.
Bison

first, I'm at work, and don't have a sound card.

Second, even assuming this particular story is dead wrong and there wasn't any booing (and directional mics might not pick it up from the audience if the recoding is from the president's mic), it doesn't give reason to make sweeping assumptions about "the media".

But please, feel free to rant on.

I've had many critiques that I've posted about incredible bias. Even recently about Tom Brokaw who I used to respect. Just because you've only read my most recent critique doesn't mean that it's a sweeping generalization.

I think the fact that the story was pulled tells you what you need to know about its veracity.

Was it only pulled because there was such obvious evidence against it?
Bison

BTW - I've seen the video of the event also with full shot of the crowd, no one is outwardly booing.
Bison

Since it's hard to inwardly boo, I'll take your word for it in this instance.

Clear as mud. It seems to me that the story speaks for itself. Republicans are speaking kind words and pulling for Clinton.

Alter it how you may, one or two classless in the audience remind me of those that hammer Reagan after he was dead, but there were more.

Class seems to float to the top.

For all the sh_t some of you are tossing at Phaedrus for responding to a troll who never had a positive word since gracing us with his presence here on TT, you are also grabbing opportunities to grandstand a bit by reminding us how 'magnanimous' the republican party is. Geez, put it aside for once and wish the guy well, if that's what you desire. Whether you want to admit it or not, there are lots of us who were able to do just that on the Reagan threads...

I watched this woman a few weeks ago, talking with one of the "talking heads" about how Clinton was obviously having another affair because of his weight loss, she said anytime a man undergoes a weight loss at that age it's a sure sigh of an affair.

Then again it could be a doctor that says, Hey dude, your cholesterol is off the scale and your heart ain't doing so good either.....
