Last Minute Trip
I had planned on just doing a dayhike tomorrow up in the White Mountains to bag a couple of peaks. But then I thought.. I'm caught up with everything going on in my life, so why not make it an overnighter? So, tomorrow, I'll find a basecamp near the bottoms of Mt. Hancock and Mt. South Hancock and then climb said mountains.

Chalk up another two on my quest for bagging two more peaks on the 48 list (3 total.. but the number will continue to rise quickly).

good going man. Peak bagging is awesome. It's great to incorporate waterfalls into a peak bagging trip, but for me summits are the ultimate objective in my backpacking endeavors.

Screw you guys, I'm going to 2 parties this weekend!

No, but seriously, that's awesome, man. I wish I could get up to the Whites sometime. I might run out of time this year though -- too much stuff already planned...

PS - you should have stayed at my part-ay. we went to the club after you left and had the whole dance floor to ourselves. mr. "falls off cliffs" decided to fall off the dancefloor (whatta bum).

Short and Sweet
I'm back! My first overnighter in the Whites was a nice one. I bagged Hancock and S. Hancock. Great little trip. Not a hardcore buttkicker, but a good workout none the less. It's been a while since I've done a solo trip, so it was nice to do that as well.

Despite it being Labor Day weekend, crowds were minimal where I was. I'm sure the Presidentials were a zoo though. :-)

Hey Artex. I did that loop (base-camped, too). Had some great rock scrambling on the way up.

BTW, aren't those peaks considered part of the Presidentials?

Very cool, Tarabull! Yeah, some good scrambles going up Hancock. I don't think they're considered as part of the Presidentials though.

Hmmm. I guess I just assumed they were called the Presidentials since they all took names from past presidents... and since Hancock was a president...

Guess I'll have to look it up to solve that mystery.

Yeah, Mt. Lincoln is another one, but that's on the far western side of the park. It looks like the Presidential Range is Washington and the others nearby, like Adams, Jefferson, Clay, and some others.

awesome to hear you're enjoying your new playground, Artie. I miss it up there...it's been a year and half since I've seen NH.
