ahhh, lovely Autumn color...whar'z it at ?

“Here in PA, we usually start seeing some leaves changing by mid-September. I've got a sprinkling of orange already on one of my backyard trees.

What's going on in your area? Got foliage?

I love hiking in the Fall when the air is crisp, bugs are gone and the trees provide a colorful display. So, where has is started already?
...Maine, New Hampshire, New York?

“There's not much color change in Central NH. I'm headed to the Whites this weekend to dayhike with Pedxing and Artex on Saturday for Flags on the 48, the 3rd anniversary of 9/11. I'll let you know how the color is up there after Saturday.”

“Maples are turning so far, a few yellow leaves dropping from the cottonwoods too. That's all in SE MI so far.”

“leaves don't peak here until about Nov 7-14 or so. We'll start seeing some color in mid October.”

“Peak here is usually from the end of Sept. through the first part of Oct. Of course it all depends on what part of NH you live in.

I was out over the weekend in North Central PA (Alleghney Front trail). Only a couple of scattered colors. Still lots of grenn around there.”

“I'm off to the Daks this weekend...hoping for some great color. Anyone know? Anyone? Bueller?”

“The leaves are beginning to change in north Georgia. Assuming that they don't get blown away by tropical cyclone activity it looks like it may be a very good year for color. The trees that have turned so far are unusually brilliant. That would be nice considering the last couple of years have been rather brown.”

“The leaves in North Alabama are starting to turn also...at the higher elevations...like in my yard at 1600ft. The maple trees started first, and now the hickory trees are starting to turn. The oak trees are being stubborn. :p”
