Gingerbread bears done yesterday, french cookies done last weekend. Today will be white chocolate cranberries and Saturday will be caramel filled chocolate cookies.
Toffee's done, peanut brittle, Emeril's spicy nuts and fudge to go!

This year the neighbors will get cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning too.

I love this time of year. It's even funner since I got a Miguels apron. =) Makes me think of all the good times at the Red every time I put it on.”

Suddenly I have the urge to move to MI.”

“I turned my ankle at an oblique angle yesterday and it is sore today.

Nurse Goodbody ordered me to stay home and said that as long as I am here, I should bake cookies.

Oatmeal Raisen to be exact. So, I have to find a recipe and start baking.”

“This is an awesome recipe, chili! I made them a couple weeks ago, and while I usually suck butt at making cookies, these were the best I'd ever done! You could just substitute raisins for the chocolate, if you want to be a baby about it.

“Oatmeal cookies, for Chili

Oven 375°
6 dozen

1C butter, softened
1C sugar
1C packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

* 2C flour
* 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
* 1 tsp baking soda
* 1 tsp salt

3C quick oats
1C chopped pecans
1C raisins

Cream butter and sugars, add egg and vanilla. Mix all * ingredients, in a seperate bowl, with a fork, and add to butter mixture. Stir in oats and nuts and raisins. Bake on a greased cookie sheet 12-14 minutes.”

You are correct, but my stove didn't work for about a year after Katrina, so I got out of the habit of using it.
It is fixed now.

But cookies are so much more special if someone else baked them.”

“Everything tastes better when someone else makes it for me! ; ) We, my kids and I, bake cookies the week before x-mas otherwise my kids eat them all! Any kids StoveStomper?”

“Okay, I'm having a pretty frustrating day so I knuckled under and made Laurel and I a fresh batch of toll house cookies. Crisp around the edges, gooey in the middle and the chips are still very soft, to Laurel's delight. She's a bit of a chocolate fiend too. The rest of the dough's in the fridge now. No, not the hiker, the appliance in my kitechen.”

I do on the other hand have two teenagers I'm willing to rent on a bi-annual basis!!! ; ) Take the boy for two years... he's 16, then when that time is up, you can have the girl; who will then also be 16.”

“Just finished frosting 84 Gingerbread cookies. This was a great excercise for curing perfectionist tendencies! They're adorable but not perfect.

Now to clean up the kitchen and prepare snacks for the cookie exchange. I think using my new, non-perfecting skills may come in handy in this as well.

Christmas decorations make everything sparkle anyway. I love it!”

“What a great time. I now have loads of cookies and the ladies had a great time. Little wine, little dip and crostini, couple of Christmas carols. Wonderful. Sometimes it's nice to go pure girlie things. The guys I know don't do cookie exchanges. :-)

Next year we're going to add carolling around the neighborhood. Yeah!”
