who do you trust more to get you to the trail head? I drive a Honda but I've always been a Chevy fan.

As far as I'm concerned they'll both get you to the trailhead. I drove a chevy cross country and it kept running, for the extent of that trip anyway.

Chevy/GMC
My GMC only left me stranded once and that was my own fault for not changing a pulley bearing that I knew was going.

The Ford I had gave me new problems almost daily.

No car like a Mopar!

Now that I've said that I do have to say that no other car company short of Hummer has less regard for providing cars and trucks that get even halfway decent mileage than Dimler/Chrysler.

My next car will be a Pontiac Vibe or a Toyota Matrix. I'm leaning towards the Vibe because it's made in America...well, Canada and/or Mexico but that's closer than Japan!

I drove a Ford for a few years and racked up $4000 in debt trying to keep it maintained to run. That car sucked. I had a Cavalier and had no problems with it. I love my Civic though. If I were to get a truck, it would no doubt be a Chevy.

Has there ever been a tougher car than a Chevy Chevette? I think not! Plus you can tell all the girls at the bar you drive a "vette'!

I have driven Ford's for years. I have a Ford Explorer and love it. The man hates it, but oh well :-P He has a Nissan Xterra.
I had a Cavalier and I called it the "Crapalier"...dam thing always was breaking down, and it blew a head gasket and a power steering pump!!

lol, yeah those chevettes keep going and going for some reason. My grandmother has a 1958 Corvette and I wish she would just go ahead and give it to me. She doesn't drive it and hasn't driven it for 20 some years.

My first car was a Mercury Lynx, Escorts twin, that car sucked but I loved it the same because it was my first car and my second car was an Escort Station Wagon.. That was the car that was always breaking down. It was a 92 and it sucked. I'll never drive another Ford. They deserve the Found on Road Dead, Fix or Repair daily moniker.

And like Nigal said, I picked a girl up in my Lynx to go to the homecoming dance my senior year and she about dumped me on the spot.

I had a Mercury Capri. It was missing the "I" on the hood. I was always going to move the "R" next to the "C", but the car died before I got the chance.

I have driven just about everything in my many years of driving.

The worst? The last POS I owned: Dodge Ram Van. That thing.....well, there's not enough foul words in our language that could describe my experiance with that *thing*.

My Jetta was a real fun car to drive. My wife, then girlfriend, hated it because I kept the muffler a little *loud*. hehehe I can still see her shaking her head as I pulled into her driveway for date time!

I had a Honda Accord.....that thing was my favorite up until recently. It ran forever and had it been that crash (were an old lady blew a stop sign and I hit her), I'd still be driving it. It was never the same after that.

I once had a Buick Century, I think it was a '78. When I got rid of it, only one outta the four doors would open (and you guessd it, it wasn't the drivers side!). The rest were rusted shut.

One of the best cars I had, was an '80 Pontiac Sunbird, with the 3.8 engine. The car was so light that the power plant would send me into the fourth demention every time I drove it. It was a sad day when I blew the engine in that puppy.

I had a Ford pickup, well it was my wifes that she brought into the marriage. It was very useful and my sister still drives it today.

I know it only has about 4,500 miles on it, but my favorite car so far, is my current '04 Cavalier. I love driving that thing. I put synth oil in her for her first oil change (per my uncles suggestion. He's a test driver for GM) and you can really feel the power through the gears. My uncle took one look at it and asked me "How did you tak your wife into getting this car?" I said, "She talked ME into it."

The power, gas milage and emissions are even on par or better than the Hondas and Toyotas. This is the last year for this model. Just like my uncle said "Shame that once GM gets it right, they discontinue it"...

I highly suggest getting one if you can.

"I had a Chevette too, for 10 years and 118,000 miles. No A/C, manual everything. But it was great transportation."

My brother drove a shlt brown Chevette that refused to die. Of course it had trash in the back seat clear up to the windows and when the floor mat on the driver’s side would shift snow and slush would fly up into your face. He donated it to the local police department to use for swat training. That thing looked like swiss cheese when they were done!

Mine was an all manual '78.
The tranny sounded like someone had tossed a handfull of sand in the gears. We called the the coffee grinder. That was until I fleckstone painted it a granite color. It looked like a chevette shaped boulder with chrome hubcaps and whitewalls.

So then I had a bit of a theme going with the 'ole cave car. So I glued chicken leg bones to the door handles and got some styling snow tiger seat covers. I was on a mission to find a butcher that could supply me with a cow femer to fill the hole in the fender where the antenna used to be. The coup de la resistance would have been an electric fireplace log to go in the rear window but alas the Femer and fake fire were unfindable.

I also had a 1995 Ford F-150 pickup. The color was sapphire blue but it looked more like the Barney Mobile. Great truck, put 175,000 miles on it in 5 yrs.

I now drive a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport.

One of my favorites was my second '66 Chevy pickup with eight-foot Step Side bed.

I resurrected in '79.
Some A-hole stole it the next year and took the new tires, new battery, oversize brass radiator, and behind-the-seat gas tank(which I had fixed with new/old gauge sensor).

My second car/vehicle was a '67 Corvair.
That was a fun car until I rear-ended another car while checking out a girl's rear end back in '72.

“That was a fun car until I rear-ended another car while checking out a girl's rear end back in '72."

LOL! Back in the day when I was young, dumb and full of cum (and about three beers) I was cruising’ the strip and talking to a girl on the sidewalk while at a red light. I thought it turned green, I chirped the tires still looking’ at the chick and ran right into the truck in front of me. Yeah, I was cool!

BTW- drinking and driving’s bad…mkay?

No, but it sure rammed the hell out of the old lady in the '65 Chevelle.

The Corvair's front end looked like an accordian and the damage to the Chevelle was hard to see.
