I Made It !!
I woke up this morning and I didn't feel any different than any other morning except..... today I'm 40 !!!
No big deal. I'm healthy, feel good and I'm headed to Red Lobster for dinner with my boys. Last weekend I did my first solo overnighter and everything went well. I guess as long as I'm still out there doing it, it doesn't matter how old I am.

Congrats on your solo

Congrats on turning 40.

BTW, the effects of turning 40 won't show up for another 10 years...

You're correct. Congratulations on everything. Now go for the second overnight. Keep it up and stay in shape so that at my age(72) you'll be able to report something like this.

Amen, steve!

Care with Dead Lobster, seafood and too much drink can mean major hurlage.

Eat a garlic cheese biscuit!
love those little biscuits fresh from the oven! I'm jealous--I love red lobster!

Hope you have a great birthday!

When you're 50, you'll be saying "when I was young" about 40!!
Congratulations on your solo. If you enjoyed it, then I hope it's the first of many. I did my first solo at 48, and totally loved it.
Turning 50 for me was a breeze. Seemed easier than 40.

Age is just a state of mind, spikehiker. At least that's what all of us getting up there in years say. Really, I know a lot of 30 somethings that act like they're 50 or 60. It's a shame.

Thanks for all of the well wishes. I'll try to never act my age, now that I'm getting "up there" lol

Ditto

Turning 40 was one of the best surprises of my life - nothing changed for the worst! Turning 30 was a lot more stressful for me.
