If I'm on I93 or if it's late at night I usually just stay on it until exit 35 and take 3 to 302 and into the notch. I have taken the Kanc to Bear Notch Road to 302 if I'm camped near the Kanc or if it's in the afternoon but I wouldn't say it's better and at night the fog can get so thick on the Kanc you really can't save any time.
