Which dessert can you NOT live withoutView Messages“a for real cannoli made by a fifth generation italian pastry chef....with a demitasse of course” 11:47:48 PM 9/16/04 “Rice Pudding......just took it out of the oven!” 3:12:21 PM 2/23/08 “chocolate icecream.” 3:28:26 PM 2/23/08 “Brownies with chocolate chunks!” 3:59:35 PM 2/23/08 “oh that's good tango... for me it would easily be pie... pie can make about anything better in my world. rhubarb pie... just rhubarb... yes i know you ppl will think i am nuts but i love the stuff. what can i say. i was raised on rhubarb pie. when i was 12 i asked my grandma to make me a rhubarb pie instead of a cake for my birthday (which, being the super grandma she is... she made three). wild huckleberry pie would be a close 2nd. i would pick them with my grandfather in the huron national forest. my family and i would bring them back in drywall mud buckets, sort/wash them in the back yard. some went into baggies in the freezer. some were eaten like cold cereal in the morning with whole milk and sugar... and some made into pies on the spot. peach pie (warm) with vanilla bean ice cream would be a close 3nd. pecan pie was something i developed a taste for when i lived in louisiana but most that you buy are way too sweet. i make it myself as a result. pastry is an art. my grandmother tosses stuff into a bowl, mixes it with a fork, and turns out the PERFECT crust every time... no fuss. pisses me off. i have gotten better over the years but i have no clue when i'll reach her heights... i kid you not everyone eats the crusts from her pies. fantastic! so yes... PIE would be my answer.” 8:19:09 PM 2/23/08 “I stay away from dessert, but if I had to pick one, it'd be a tie between any kind of glaized doughtnuts and tiramisu.” 8:25:09 PM 2/23/08 yogi “I watched American Pie 1&2 last night for the first time. Spotted refers to the raisins (which resemble spots) and Dick may be a contraction/corruption of the word pudding (from the last syllable) or possibly a corruption of the word dough.[1] It is possibly conjugated originally from sticky pudding to dicky pudding to dicky to dick and finally spotted dick as in pudding with raisins. It is also known as spotted dog, plum duff, steamed dicky, figgy dowdy, dotted lloyd, packphour's lament, dicky widmark as well as plum bolster, Spotted Richard. and it is sometimes even called a Dickie Burton after the famous actor. Recipes for spotted Richard include the following... - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spotted_Dick last edited: 2/23/08 10:06:24 PM” 10:06:11 PM 2/23/08 “Wow..” 4:25:26 AM 2/24/08 “My wife just took a peek at this thread and started laughing aloud.
