BASIC QUESTION
I havn't followed the Adventurists closely, except that I know that he used to post under "feeney" and because he is a ADK hiker, has been a good ADK resource.

I also remember something about them pokig around out west for other living ideas.

so . .. .

WHERE ARE THEY GOING???

Cool!
Congrats Advent.

Did you two find jobs, or are you just takig the plunge??

Is Loveland on the front range??? Where is loveland. . . .Isn't there a loveland ariforce base?

Colorado. boy. Dem some big mountains. I was at Vail only once. .. .just about died of HAPE.

What I saw was beatiful. . .. .if I didn't have to work, i would travel around in an RV and Colorado is a place where I would spend some time.

Yes, Loveland is on the Front Range...

Its between Boulder and Fort Collins, due East of Rocky Mtn Nat Park.

We don't have definite jobs lined up but we have planned accordingly and things look well.

The Mrs. is a Special Ed teacher which is in demand. I have my Bio and Environmental Degree plus background in Chemistry.

Thanks for your Congrats.

Been hiking in the Dacks lately?
Adventurist

Special Ed is in high demand. And with your background things should roll your way.

You both have some big cajones taking the plunge (well . . .not techinically speaking .. .but you get the point).

I have not been in the daks for 2 years.

I have done a lot in the Whites as I try to finish up the 48 4000s, and my backpacing trip wit my daks oriented friend was to Baxter last year for his first trip up kathadin.

Cool...I just glance over the Whites thread.

Good to hear from you...

BTW...I've been wanting to move to CO for many years but never thought I could afford to take the risk...

Now everything is in line!

Hey lee
Speaking of.... lee, where are you from? You've been on this board awhile, twigeater has spoken highly of you on a number of occasions (when she's not speaking highly of me, of course!). Why don't you fill out your profile and why haven't you come out on some of the TT trips of late?????

Huh? Huh???

:)

I'm sure you'll all be very interested to know that this will be the first TT backpacking trip that I have been on (9 - count 'em, 9!) without the Pennsy Hiker coming along!

MMMwwwwwaaaahhhhhh :( I will miss my Peensy fwiend :(

Bobo --

I live in CT. I hike in the Whites, Maine and ADK.

39, married two boys ages 9 and 6.

Kayak, Rode bike, run.

RE: my anonimity. I dunno. Just the way I guess I like it.

I post from work. I am quite sure that the folks here would not be amused by the amount of time I spend. I don't want to open up a communication bridge to my email here.

I don't spend anytime on the computer at home what with dinnertime, kids to bed, talking with wife in the quiet moments, so I don't want to transfer my TT time to home.

At this point, my weekends are spoken for with family commitments. The truth is, I find it hard to maintain my "non-virtual" friendships. It is something I have to work at. If I got involved with YOU folks (perish the thought ;-)), I don't know where I would find the time.

I am sure, that there will come a time, and a trip, that I really want to go on. My contact with Twig was in regard to a Baxter winter trip that I really wanted to make work for me, but I had to bail in the end.

My hope, bobo, is that I haven't burnt all my TT bridges when I do want to reach out and join a trip.

There are lots of New England folks who really sound like decent people.

Twig, Ped, Artex, Skiracer, MadRiver, Pepsi, LtHiker et al .. . and of course, those who come up to hike here.

I am flattered that Twig says good things. That is nice to hear. She is the only TT person I have had any communication with outside of TT.

And that folks, is about as candid, and serious as I have ever been on this board.

Now back to our regularly scheduled A-hole . ..

Love grows where Bobo goes
And nobody knows like Toes

Hey lee
When I was 39 my boys were 8, 5 & 1.
I was in Vermont for five years during that "little kid" period of my life and went backpacking there only twice.

Now that my body is falling apart I've got more freedom, just less GO.

And you said:

Now that my body is falling apart I've got more freedom, just less GO.”

Ya know .. .if Hurricane Janet finds this to be a problem . ..tell her to come on up and see me sometime!
