I popped inj to work (school) to read my e-mail, follow up on a climbing wall course I arranged for the Phys. Ed. Dept and chatter on TT when a buddy stopped in at my office and gave m,e some pretty horrible news.

Pierrette was at the school where I got my first teaching job and she is quite a character. She retired a couple of years ago and met a really nice retired teacher and they have been extremely happy over the last couple of years.

She belongs to a large circle of teacher friends and is the best friend of my last girlfriend.

They hit a moose not far from here and her boyfriend and both his parents were killd. She has broken ribs and is in the hospital.

I'm off to get co-ordinates.

I got down to the staff room just in time to see the TV report. Everyone's pretty shaken. One of my colleagues studied with him; they played college football to-getherm, as well as Little League baseball.

A colloeague and friend - his son and mine are roommates - taught with him for a couple of years.

Everybody was really happy for them; Pierette had been alone for ten years after her divorce.

I'm sorry to hear that, Gremlin.

I know several people around here have hit moose recently. One guy from work hit one this summer and is lucky to be alive. He got away with some soreness, bruising and embedded glass in his body. The moose was decapitated by the'A' pillar in his car. He and his wife ended up with a moose head in their laps. They are both lucky to be alive. I slow down all the time at night now and keep a very sharp eye and awareness for animals in the road.

Thanks,

They showed the remains of the accident on TV.

Thing is it happened on a throughway between two cities, Valleyfield and Vaudreuil-Dorio. One car clipped the moose and crashed and the moose ran over the meridian and a car crashed to avoid it and the third car hit it broadside.

Everyone else has minor injuries, but Pierrette is hospitalised and her boyfriend and his father are dead.

There are moose scattered about, but this is really deer country and you don't expect to see moose.

Visiting her is going to be rough.

Gremlin

really sorry to hear that about your friend. How horrible and sad that she has had her boyfriend (and his dad) taken away from her life... :-(

Wild animals are definitely scary to encounter at nighttime (even in the day) on the road... It seems like they pop out of no where and just appear! Hope your friend will be okay (physically)--I know she will take a while to heal emotionally...

God! You know!
This has been such a sheety day. I found out my friend's dad died too. Jeez Louise. I need a stiff drink and to go back to bed.

Prayers to everyone involved, Gremlin. I saw the news yesterday night....two men died when they hit a moose.

Can't believe how small this world is.....
