1. In 1972, Bush failed to show up for a physical, which was required due to his commitment to the National Guard. He was ultimately suspended from flying, and did not fly for two years. According to the military, Bush was to fly for 5 years after training was complete. He flew 3 of those years, but not the last two. The cost to train GWB, by taxpayers, to fly was $750,000.

Bush Rips off taxpayers:$300,000 ($150,000 x 2 years)

2. In April, 1989 GWB bought the Texas Rangers for 86 million dollars. Of the 86 million, he personally invested $600,000 from a bank loan that he received from a bank in Taxas that he used to be VP of. The other owners sweetened the deal for GWB by giving him an additional 10% in the team, which, overall was 11.8% stake. The team's record that year was 83-79. Nolan Ryan was the only major star on the team, and he earned 1.8 million. The team payroll was $10,689,500. In 1991, Bush and fellow team owners duped the public into buying a brand new stadium for the rangers at the cost of $200,000,000. They also spent $150,000 of taxpayer dollars on a campaign to get people to vote for the project. It passed, and a new stadium was built. As part of the plan, the owners could buy back the stadium after 12 years for $60,000,000. In 1998, Tom Hicks, Bush's #4 campaign contributor, bough the rangers for $250,000,000. As a result, Bush cashed in at $14.9 million on his $600,000 investment. In 1998, the Top srats were Juan Gonzalez at $7.4 million and Ivan Rodrieguez at $6 million per year, with a team payroll of $54,704,595. Their record that year was 88-74. They never won a championship, during Bush's ownership. He made a huge profit off of basically building a new stadium at taxpayer expense, which was now an asset for the team, and part of the sale.

Bush rips-off taxpayers: $23,600,000 ($200,000,000 x 11.8%)

3. In 2001, GWB takes office as President of the United States. The yearly defecit/surplus of the federal government at the time was + $236.4 billion dollars, and the overall national debt was $3,409.8 billion dollars and declining. By the end of 2003, after GWB pushed for tax cuts, increased military spending and increased tax savings to large companies, the yearly defecit/surplus was -$375.3 billion dollars, with an overall national debt of $3,913.6 billion dollars.

Bush rips-off taxpayers: $503.8 billion dollars, and rising.

Total cost of rip-off to United States by Bush (utlizing only 3 examples): $503,823,900,000

The only thing this guy has ever produced for taxpayers is wealth for the top 1% of the country, a huge defecit for others, and increased revenue, paid for by taxpaying customers, for Tom Hicks and his new privately owned, publically funded stadium.

Fiscal responsibility? I think not. Fiscal piracy! YES!

Buddha, Buddha, Buddha, ... I've been trying to tell you ...

Lay off the Bush ripping off the taxpayers stuff. It only sends his ratings higher in the polls. Everytime he screws up, he gets 2 percentage points more. If undecided voters read this thread, it's good for at least 10 points, maybe 14.

Seriously, get Matt to kill this thread or Kerry won't stand a chance!

Dude, the American voters want a f***-up!

I wish I could find the numbers on Texas, I'm sure Bush has ripped us off for much more. I wonder how much the entire family, including Prescott and his Nazi buddies ripped us off for?

Prescott and friends helped build the U-Boat fleet in the '30s.

They pestered the State Department to allow oil sales to Musolini's regime thereby facilitating the taking of Eritrea in the '30s.

They sold oil to the Empire of Japan in the '30s, without which the IJA could not have rampaged through China.

I think you guys have a good point. Kerry based his campaign on events that happened thirty years ago. It was not working. Kerry needs to take his campaign back 60, 70, or 80 years to make a difference with the American People.

I'm just amazed that a union shil would be so concerned with people getting ripped off. Sort of like Charlie Manson speaking out against serial killers.

Dun, I don't have a problem with the truth. Wallowing in the past is not a strategy that America embraces. That is the truth.

The Bush Crime Family has been buggering the U.S. for decades.

The point is to put a stop to something that has been going on for decades, not wallowing in the past..............putz.

I agree, let's don't wallow in our past. However, let's don't forget our past and the associations that continue into the present.
Finding out the connections of the Bush family throughout the generations is quite revealing, to say the least.

Wow, Prescott Bush owned 1% of a foreign bank at a time when it was perfectly legal to do so.

btw, What does this have to do with GWB? My ancestors did some bad things, it has no bearing on me.

"I agree, let's don't wallow in our past. However, let's don't forget our past and the associations that continue into the present."

I agree. Now, how about Kerry's meeting with enemy leaders in Paris? How about Kerry's connections to a group that actually held meetings to discuss assasinating US officials? How about Kerry's connections to pushing for economic ties to Vietnam so his cousin could get a $900 million contract? How about Kerry's connection to the gay porn industry? OK, that one was my fabrication but I think you see where I'm going here. LOL!

Conspiracy theories??

The facts are that the Bush family has been doin' business with these people for decades.

You don't suppose they are in it for the money, huh?

A business man trying to be successful by actually making money? That bassturd!! That's as diabolical as a librarian attempting to follow the dewy decimal system. Dastardly I say!

So is any of this meaningless crap ilegal? I mean, how do we grade this on the scale of crimes? How much further up the scale is it from war crimes?

"How about a president that has not succeeded at any enterprise that he has undertaken, without being bailed out by family and friends?"

How about a first lady who makes $100,000 off cattle futers in one year? Didn't hear anyone from the left complaining about the Clinton business dealings...even when people they delt with turned up dead.

Interesting comment about the Clintons. After how many years of investigation and how many dollars, the most Judge Starr could come up with was Clinton having sex with an intern. I wonder what a similar investigation into the past finances of Bush and Cheney would come up with.

Most people don't even know what the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) was or what Kerry's role was in bring them down. There is tons of information available on the web if you want to do a little googling. You could start here: How John Kerry busted the terrorists' favorite bank.

I think Kerry's accomplishments compare extremely favorably to Bush's.

Crooked Business
The whole administration is crooked- starting with the Misleader -in - chief

1. They want to make Halliburton immune from prosecution

2. Ripping off Indians to support the GOP

3. Changing jurisdictions in Texas to get Republican majority

4. Supersizing the 'Surveillance' Act

5. Council estimates 98.4 billion short on funding homeland security

6. Spends 1 million on presidential PR because 9-11 is classified

7. We have the biggest federal govt. in history-

8. Deregulation caused the NE power outage in the first place

9. What's good for industry and big business (is good for the US) hack, weeze, cough

10. 12% population underemployed or unemployed.

What is the difference between Martha Stewart and Ken Lay?

Lay took the fifth
