I saw the women with MS who "ran" the NY Marathon speak. This was a while ago. She has crutches and I believe it took her over a day. Safety was an issue, especially in some of the nicer sections, so the Hells Angels provided her with security! She wrote a book about it.

“I think they instituted the qualifying times because of the high demand of people who want to run it. A few years back they relaxed the standards a bit because of the waning interest in running.”
