It came to a head Sunday night-Monday morning after a 10 hours and a couple hundred bucks at various bars, that after 3 months of partyin, boozin, partyin, travelin, partyin, its time to get back to the Y and get fit again. Not to mention a regular sleep pattern, a bit of housekeeping, and saving $$ again.
I post this so I'll be held accountable.

I've eaten at the "y" many a time. And enjoyed it.


Can't say as I have ever drunken at the "Y" . . ..that seems a little much to me.

I need to get back into the gym, too. I have to wait until HPM's new job starts paying. There's a 5-6 week lag in the pay cycle, and that hurts us big time.

I usually go back to the gym in October.
This year we have a free gym and very cheap classes - like $1 per class. I'm heading over tonight!

I didn't workout this morning as planned, but as soon as I get home. I am coming down with a cold and didn't feel like getting up early this morning. But I'm committed for after work.

i'm thinking about joining the Y near me soon...they have 3 pools there, woop woop! the thing i hate about joining gyms is that they'll never just tell you how much it is per freakin' month! i've tried to get them to tell me over email and on the phone, and i always get, "make an apt. and we'll show you around and tell you about our great deals!" i think it's a racket, i'll tell ya what...it's almost like they're selling a car or something. and usually after i join, i see a sign for a special that's lower than what i joined for. oh the humanity!

currahee, do you go to the Y on Lebanon Rd. I use to go there a long time ago but it got so crowded that you had to wait forever to get on a machine.
Hopefully by going in the middle of the day you miss the crowd.

Lyra,
At the Y, you can get the fee prorated if you show a need, and their rates fluctuate greatly. Check 'em out. I know down here there are fewer muscle heads at the Y than at the other fitness centers. To me, that's a plus.

Ewker, yup. After 5:00pm is the worst. It also depends on the time of year you go. The place is empty now, but New-Years-Resolution-Time packs the Y with hopefuls for about 2 months.

currahee, you needed to start back in the summer when all those stay at home moms were at the pool with their kids.

I know what you mean about the 5:00pm crowd. At the one I go to now it is basically the same thing.

I have spent the last 2 evenings on the stair climber. I looked like I just got out of the shower when I got finished. The girl next to me started and quit at the same time and never broke a sweat :(

Also, some people just don't sweat much in general (myself. And I overheat really easy as a result.) Sweat is good!

Im now up to a 2 mile run...not that I run very fast. I really hate running, but Khatru can't keep up on the bike, so I'm forced to run, I think my goal will be 3 miles and then I'll stay there.

Remember the pushup thread? well at the height of that I was doing 75, now I'm starting over and can only do 40. I hate starting over.

and as for feeling sore...you all must be very out of shape. thank goodness I didnt' sit on my @ss all summer long, or I guess I'd be hurting too.

I did my video last night.
I tried to get up early and do a cardio this morning, but the cold thing is kicking my butt. So I am committed to go after work.

I go to the gym everday that I don't hav a lunch appt scheduled . . .and unless its do or die, I avoid scheduling appts over lunch.


If I get two lunches in a row . . I will blow out of work int he middle ofhte afternoon and go to the gym then.


I am an addict.


For example: This morning I was out on my road bike early (but not for long . . .45 mintues). So i did shoulder, chest, back, arms and abs at hte gym . ..(pull ups, flys, planks etc).


And after i am done . .I always spend 15 mintues stretching.


Of the things I do, I figure stretching could be the most beneficial in the long term.

Just got back from a great chest and moderate back workout. I had to cut it short because I hafta go in to work an hour sooner and one of our cars is in the shop.
I woulda felt lousy if I hadn't gone, but now feel FANTASTIC 'cause I did go.

3 days in the gym and no booze, smokes, etc...
I tell ya folks it feels great.

I hear ya, Ductape. I did legs yesterday. You shoulda seen me stocking beer in the low coolers tonight. I looked like quite the gimp. I had to pull myself up off the floor. Oh well, it's the price I pay.

Today I rest. I covered all muscle groups over the last three days and I feel it today. My old routine was 3 on 1 off anyhoo. I didn't sleep well last night because my legs are smoked. Lotsa stretching in store for me tonight while @ work.
Also day 4 no vices.
It's amazing how much easier waking up is and how much better I feel when I get up.
