anyone ever use a travel agency for trips. Doesn't matter if it is for backpacking, biking, sight seeing, etc.

Would you use the same agency again.

Anyone ever use Trek Travel for a biking vacation?

I have heard positive things about Backroads Bike Tours. In fact, a woman I know went on a mountain biking one with them, met a guy, and got married to him like 3 months later. They're still happily married with 3 kids! Not that you're looking for that sort of thing....

I have used a travel agency in the past, but as of recent, I book everything online.

I just ran across a website that could be promising.

www.classicvaciations.com

Long story short, my sis calls me a week ago and says that the resort they are staying at on their honeymoon in Jamica was partially destroyed by one of the many hurricanes. She now wants to go to Hawaii.

I find this site and give her the info. She was able to get DIRECT round trip airfare, room at the Hyatt for 6 nights for $2,300. I thought that was good.

Either myself online, or use AAA Travel.

Both work fine.

No, have not used Orbitz or Priceline

The only time I'd use a travel agency is when I was trying to book a really complete deal to someplace I didn't really know anything about, like a foreign country or to Hawaii or something like that and wanted the airfar, rooms, cars and maybe "tourist stuff" all just handled for me.

For my normal travel I use Orbitz for flights (but apparantly international hotels are risky) or travelocity has given me good deals in the past too.

good luck

Ewk - forgot to mention this company that I found on my alumni web site. They're small right now, although it sounds like a good company: Dude Girl. They do a Tour de France trip that sounds pretty cool.

I got a pretty nice price on airfare to SLC on ORBITZ.

for flights I always use the normal websites for southwest, northwest or frontier.

I haven't booked any trip through a agency before but since I really enjoy biking I thought I would look to see what is out there

ewker, I use Travelzoo. they do send me awesome deals once in a while.

example - Charlotte-Milan ... $266

skyauction isn't bad either, but i haven't checked them in a while.

They are both referers [sp?] only though.

if you are looking for a REAL agency I can't help you. I only delt with expedia
