I don't have HBO so missed the first run of this series a while back, but TNT had it on all weekend. I ended up watching at least 7 of the 12 episodes on Sunday. I love the movie "Apollo 13", I watch it at least every month or two. But this series blew me away - so much better, a ton of details. Of course they had the TIME to add the details - each episode was about 1 1/2 hours long, each. Now I need to find the series on DVD, gotta own this one.

Did anyone else see the series? Comments?

I knew it was on but was too busy this weekend to watch it.

I watched a lot of it, my favorite segments are Al Bean about Apollo 12 and the segment on science.

I saw most of them yesterday, never saw them on HBO, I thought about the DVD set too.

I thought it was interesting how they showed the design process as it progressed (like the lander), and how some mission safety parameters came to be (like maximum wind velocity at launch, etc). I gotta buy this thing and watch it all. Its going to drive my wife crazy!

I liked Hank's little intro segments too, since I was about 2 yrs old during the height of all that stuff, I don't remember much except when I was around 5 going out in the yard at night to see if I could see teh guys up on the moon.

Listing of each episode. Looks like you can buy the DVD set on Amazon for about $82. Not bad considering how much viewing time you need to view it (I'm guessing 15 hours).

And now news today that one of the original Gemini astronauts, Gordon Cooper, died yesterday.
