“As the only Lost Vegan on here (that I know of), this sounds like a fabulous idea! There are lots of great places to hike so nearby. Winter is a great time to visit Death Valley for instance. And, Vegas is one of the biggest freak-shows on the planet every night of the week. I would for sure be in if I am around.”

1. Rick Thomas magic show in afternoon at the Tropicana. Got the big white tiger and dancing girls. (I saw Siegfried and Roy in '90, oops, well that's done)

2. Live dancing boobies almost in your face at the San Remo, I think? (This was mid 90s... what a surprise! eeek!)

3. Monorail from Balley's to MGM Grand for late night freak watching.

4. Free, outdoor pirate lagoon show outside Treasure Island (hey, it sinks!)

5. Some of the dive casinos downtown. I remember one that had old-style slot machines and all kinds of Asian women working there. Something about Sally's??!?

6. Hard Rock... just cool to see stuff.

7. Hoover Dam. However, I suppose you don't get to go to the bottom now cuz of terrorism threats? (And a TT trip to Vegas surely sounds like a terrorism threat if there ever was one!!)

8. You can even camp close to Vegas, out by Red Rock Canyon. You must hike there. I started to do Refrigerator Canyon once, but ran out of daylight.

9. Play pai gow poker. You have to look for it, but it's EASY and a great table game to play for awhile. You probably won't win a ton of money, but its style lets you play longer.

10. And my most important advice regarding Vegas: Get into airport, hop in rental car, GO TO ZION!!! Then plan wild night in Vegas for the night before you fly back. :-) I must have done that maybe 5 times??”

“Went to Hoover Dam in the summer of 2001-- about a week before 9/11.... don't know what the changes are now... it was cool.)

I've played pai gow poker... it is fun! :-)

Also, my friend works in the Vegas Casinos in Security. His recommendation is that the only slots to play are the nickel machines. They pay out much better than any other denomination!

Zion-- I was there when I was about 10... would be cool to go again...

I also have to get back to the Grand Canyon (but not on a weekend-trip-- the next time I go I want to be there at least 2 weeks!

Double zero Roulette also has best odds of any roulette-- you have to look for the low priced tables, though...

My friends stayed at Circus Circus in an "off-the strip" room.. I think they only paid $35 a night or something else ridiculous..... If we're off the strip, the costs drop dramatically!
