Is this mystery hump related to the disappearance of Snafu?

Just a guess, looks like the bullet-proof vest to me.

What are you thinking?

I've worn a bullet proof vest many many times and that does not look like a vest at all. On the 2nd debate pic, the vest would actually curve the other way and vest backs are nearer your neck too. Also one would see it in the front more since it rides up when one moves.

The Bush team has denied that he was wearing a bulletproof vest. Are you calling Bush a liar Bison?

I think it would be great if Kerry carried a jamming device to the third debate and squawked Bush's eardrums at opportune moments.

Do a search in google news. The major media sources have run with the story and printed photos. Rove is claiming its a pucker in the fabric - an obvious lie.

I didn't say that's what it was but, what else could it be? I have faith in my own history with bullet proof vests that it is not one. Wireless mikes are so ubiquitous that it is easy to see where that jump would be made. Especially since Bush hasn't stumbled over any words in both debates!

my first thought was a vest, but I'll trust Tango's experience that its not, besides that her description is dead on with the ones I've seen being worn ( my upstairs neighbor is a cop and usually has his on the outside of his shirt)

My second guess was a wireless device, which makes all the sense in the world, and then it hit me that useing such a device would be cheating.

CHEATER!!!!!

btw

both of them are STILL idiots.

Hey Roamy! I agree with you. I wore a T-shirt under the vest and reg uniform on the outside unless we were serving a warrant then vest on outside of all.

Sorry to say it's a choice of the lesser of 2 evils!

Someday I would love to be able to pick a good person for the job! I know only in a dream.

I'm a jackass because I disagree, or don't see things the same as you? You say it's a wire? OK, maybe it is, maybe it isn't. My point is I don't care.

You calling me a jackass really ruined my day. I don't know if I'll ever get over it.

No you're a jackass because you ascribed to me some intention that is purely in your own mind. Then had the gall to be deliberately obtuse as to my 'motives' taking your own predjuces out on me. And if you don't care say it (stay off the thread) and keep your diatribe and crap to yourself.

Anyone see Letterman last night? They had a new game called “Guess the Hump”. They put Rupart G in a blazer with something hidden in the back and someone had to feel it and guess what it was. Turned out to be a T-bone steak. Maybe Bush packed his lunch? I mean, who does like a good cut of meat in the middle of a debate?

Nig. That's funny! T-bone well, he might be sweating so much that it was rare when the debate was over.

I wonder if he'll take his jacket off tonight to try to prove something.

How do you think I feel, not quite burned out, but close, I live in FL. I was impressed in the first debate that they actually answered the questions asked, that perked me up. The second was more politiciany (ha) answering what they wanted not really the question asked. I wish the environment was a more forefront issue.

“News story yesterday said that in Franklin Co. Ohio, they suddenly have more new registered Democrats that there are residents in the county.”

This is probably due to the fact that the largest university in the country (OSU) is located in Franklin county. There has been a lot of hubbub over where college kids should vote. On one hand they are located in another state many times and should be able to vote at the local precinct but on the other hand they are not technically residence and many people feel they do not want people who are temporary residence to shape the political landscape of there city or state or even the voting trends. They can vote with absentee ballots but many like to get involved in politics.

From Salon:

a technical expert who designs and makes such devices for the U.S. military and private industry tells Salon that he believes the bulge is indeed a transceiver designed to receive electronic signals and transmit them to a hidden earpiece lodged in Bush's ear canal.

"There's no question about it. It's a pretty obvious one -- larger than most because it probably has descrambling capability," said Alex Darbut, technical and business development vice president for Resistance Technology in Arden Hills, Minn. Darbut examined photographs of the president's back taken from the Fox News video feed at the first presidential debate in Coral Gables, Fla., as well as 2002 photos of the president driving and working in a T-shirt on his Crawford ranch, which were posted on the White House Web site.

I knew it! I knew it!
Bush campaign manager Ken Mehlman was repeatedly asked about the bulge yesterday, and finally said: "The president is an alien. You heard it here first. The president is an alien. That's your quote of the day. He has been getting information from Mars. The shock of the debate will be the president's alien past will be exposed, which is why that box is there."

...snip...Background on Bulge Story

The man behind the story picked up by The Washington Post and New York Times — suggesting a bulge in President Bush's suit during last week's debate may have been a transmitter feeding him answers — turns out to be left-wing writer Dave Lindorff, who just last year said, "It's going a bit far to compare the Bush of 2003 to the Hitler of 1933. Bush simply is not the orator that Hitler was."

But comparisons of the Bush administration's fear-mongering tactics to those practiced so successfully ... by Hitler ... are not at all out of line."

Lindorff published his latest allegations on the liberal Web site Salon.com. The White House insists President Bush had no help during the debate.
