Where's the Money, George?View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 5 of 5 messages posted.
“According to the Boston Globe, the accounting firm KPMG states that the Bush administration could not account for half of the 5 billion dollars disbursed by the US government for Iraq reconstruction projects in the first half of 2004. http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2004/10/16/iraq_audit_cant_find_billions/ These funds include Iraq oil revenue, US taxpayer monies and international aid. We have a right to transparency in government. Then, we can make legitimate democratic decisions about the course our government should take. My question... Where's the money, George?” 10:47:54 AM 10/16/04 “There was a big story on this a while back. This administration put a bunch of fresh-out-of-college kids in charge of financial distribution in Iraq. The turnover rate was extremely high. The administration got their resumes from the Heritage Foundation. I can't imagine why money has gone missing.” 11:01:28 AM 10/16/04 “I'm stunned, absolutely stunned......” 11:04:58 AM 10/16/04 “Where in hell is my cut???” 11:53:24 AM 10/16/04 “Just a hunch here – the money will eventually turn up – not stuffed in Paul Bremmer’s socks, not in a Halliburton exec’s Swiss account – but used to fund some brutal, secret war somewhere without the approval of Congress. I don’t really think its coincidence that so many Iran-Contra criminals are back in high places and billions go missing. Like I said – just a hunch.” 11:28:21 PM 10/16/04
