He said absolutely nothing racist on that thread. He came down on Tarpy for being a foulmouth and Tarpy calls him a racist. WTF?” 7:58:08 AM 10/19/04 “While you're on an apology crusade, Nigal, how about apologizing for calling my wife a wetback?” 8:05:07 AM 10/19/04 “Violin is married to a wetback?” 8:13:12 AM 10/19/04 LOL “Violin, have you stopped beating your wife??? This is an example of violin's questions. Serves no logical purpose than to piss someone off.” 8:17:55 AM 10/19/04 “Bullshlt! Cut and paste it and give a url. I NEVER called your wife a wetback. And how about addressing the bogus thread that "proves" Wanderer said something racist? Did you think no one would click on your link and just take your word for it? What a phucking liar...” 8:19:44 AM 10/19/04 “In any event the Tampa Tribune echos my thoughts pretty well. Violin you have got to be trolling these guys.” 9:04:14 AM 10/19/04 “Wetback, wetback, wetback, nanny nanny boo boo.” 10:25:29 AM 10/19/04 “I'll say it again. I haven't seen a hint of evidence anywhere that suggests wanderer is a racist. And, I haven't seen a hint of evidence that anyone here would know anything about the violin's heritage or his wife's. And I haven't seen a hinto of evidence that Nigal or anyone called anyone here, or anyone's wife a "wetback."” 11:22:52 AM 10/19/04 “I seem to remember Violin mentioning on one of the hurricane threads that his wife was from Puerto Rico. Beyond that.....I draw a blank.” 11:27:45 AM 10/19/04 nother ringing endorsement for Kerry “Or is that stinging: Yassar Arafat Yasser Arafat endorses Kerry Thinks Democratic senator 'better for Palestinian cause' Posted: October 18, 2004 8:35 p.m. Eastern By Aaron Klein © 2004 WorldNetDaily.com Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat is hoping John Kerry wins the presidential election in November, several Palestinian leaders told WorldNetDaily. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=40988” 11:31:48 AM 10/19/04 “Alright, I did a google search using "Nigal" and "wetback" and found a TT thread where the term was used. I say we ban the racist bass turd who used the term. I'll just click on thread and search for "wetback." Busted!!!!” 11:59:37 AM 10/19/04 “Here it is: “I've had friends like that, too Gojo. Sometimes you do have to be careful who you are drinking with. I worked with a guy who had an obviously mangled nose. I asked him how many times it had been broken. He said all the damage happened on one night. A friend of a friend had taken him out drinking in Texas at a pretty gritty roadhouse joint(not far from the Texarkana) during a cross country trip. Somebody cracked a joke about Oklahoma and then this "friend of a friend" offered his definition of a Texan: "a wetback who couldn't make it to Oklahoma."” pedxing 9:09:51 AM 4/17/03 http://www.thebackpacker.com/trailtalk/thread/21464,-1.php” 12:01:08 PM 10/19/04 “Ummm.... errr... How about them Sox, holding onto a thread of life through the two longest ALCS games ever.” 12:02:18 PM 10/19/04 “LOL @ Buck (delayed reaction) Did you know that there are 959 hits for "stipid" on google?” 12:23:12 PM 10/19/04 “I figr tha werld is fill of stipid piple...” 12:25:45 PM 10/19/04 “Ban Pedxing! Actually I did some Googling and found nothing. I read through the immigration threads and all I saw was myself making a strong case and Violin making a bunch of idiotic comments and trying to defend illegal immigrants. I will maintain that Violin is a phucking liar until he shows me otherwise. As long as I've been shooting my mouth off around here it should be a snap for him to find. I'm sure if someone called my wife a racial slur I'd know exactly where it was said. Me a racist? LOL! I'll have to share pictures of my black niece sometime with everyone.” 1:11:01 PM 10/19/04 “Still nothing V? Come on, where's the beef?” 3:59:30 PM 10/19/04 “Ok Nigal, you didn't say wetback. My bad. Since you won't click on my link, the exchange went like this: "Do Democrats hate Latinos?" - Nigal 8:34:16 AM 11/18/03 "Although I'm not a registered Democrat, I am married to a Latina so I take particular exception to this crap." - VioLiN 10:59:57 AM 11/18/03 "Dirty Mexicans deserve to die!" - Nigal 11:18:34 AM 11/18/03” 8:45:47 PM 10/19/04 “Violin...Just out of curiosity...why do you think you're so sensitive to racial stuff... do you have some kind of hang-up we should know about? Are you self-conscious about how you appear to others, physically??? Enquiring minds want to know.” 9:40:42 PM 10/19/04 “If the thread happened the way Violin cut and pasted it, I wouldn't say he is over sensitive for being pissed at Nigal. I still don't see any justification for calling Wanderer racist, though.” 1:24:36 AM 10/20/04 “Did you guys miss the thread where violin explained that his mixed heritage is prairie dog and cockroach? “…and said it would "not be lending our voice to the chorus of conservative-leaning newspapers endorsing the president's re-election. ... “ “…THE CHORUS...” Nicely framed rhetoric. I do wish the “conservative” media would make an effort to be more fair and balanced. I believe that your figures are wrong GGGGStomper. I agree with Ghoulbeet that the 90% figure sounds high. I believe that the figure is more in the range of 80+% of journalists identify with Dems and about 12% identify with Reps.” 6:27:13 AM 10/20/04 “CNN's HOWARD KURTZ: "It is a tight race. Do you believe that most reporters want John Kerry to win?" NEWSWEEK'S EVAN THOMAS: "Yeah, absolutely." KURTZ: "Do you think they're deliberately tilting their coverage to help John Kerry and John Edwards?" THOMAS: "Not really." KURTZ:"Subconsciously tilting their coverage?" THOMAS:"Maybe." KURTZ:"Maybe." THOMAS:"Maybe." KURTZ:"Including at Newsweek?" THOMAS:"Yeah." KURTZ:"You've said on the program 'Inside Washington' that because of the portrayal of Kerry and Edwards as young and optimistic, that's worth maybe 15 points. That would suggest." THOMAS:"Stupid thing to say. It was completely wrong. I do think that the mainstream press, I'm not talking about the blogs and Rush and all that, but the mainstream press favors Kerry. I don't thin k it's worth 15 points. That was just a stupid thing to say." KURTZ:"Is it worth five?" THOMAS:"Maybe, maybe." (CNN's Reliable Sources, October 17, 2004) According to one of the most established members of the "mainstream media," the fact that "most reporters want John Kerry to win" could be worth 5 to 15 percentage points- or 5 to 20 million votes- on Election Day. Much of the Kerry campaign's political calculation relies on the media reporting as fact baseless charges of voter intimidation, "privatizing social security" and "reinstating the draft," blaming President Bush for the flu vaccine shortage when Kerry opposed liability reform for vaccine manufacturers, and the demonstrably false charge that the President has banned stem cell research. We must remain vigilant and hold the press accountable if and when the fact "most reporters want John Kerry to win" evidences itself in articles and on-air stories between now and November 2. Call and complain, write letters to the editor, call talk radio, forward our factual e-mails to your friends and post facts on blogs. This will help make sure voters have accurate information on which to base their decision on Election Day. With your help in setting the record straight over the next two weeks, President Bush will be re-elected. Ed Gillespie Chairman, Republican National Committee” 6:56:30 AM 10/20/04 “Violin, you should have stuck to simply lying about me calling your wife a racial slur. What, did you think I wouldn’t google the discussion? No wonder you didn’t want to post a link. You just keep digging this hole of lies deeper and deeper. Here’s what was REALLY said in it’s entirty… Do Democrats hate Latinos? “I thought the democrats supported diversity? I thought Republicans were the one’s who bow down to the dollar? I thought democrats were for the people and not for special interest groups? http://washingtontimes.com/national/20031115-121140-2918r.htm Typical…very typical.” Nigal 8:34:16 AM 11/18/03 “Are you at least interested in why the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the Southwest Votor Registration and Education Project, the National Council of La Raza, Labor Council for Latin American Advancement, the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus opposed Estrada's nomination or have serious concerns about his record? BTW - Although I'm not a registered Democrat, I am married to a Latina so I take particular exception to this crap.” VioLiN 10:59:57 AM 11/18/03 “"BTW - Although I'm not a registered Democrat, I am married to a Latina so I take particular exception to this crap." So who's playin' the race card now?” Nigal 11:01:45 AM 11/18/03 “Do Democrats hate Latinos? -- Nigal 08:34:16 AM 11/18/03 Jerk off.” VioLiN 11:02:58 AM 11/18/03 “That's what we call a question in the English language. And no one answered me did they? Why? And please Violin, let’s not paint yourself to be so nice and innocent. It’s always funny ‘til it hits closer to home ain’t it? What about your thread George Bush Hates veterans? Typical Violin hypocrisy. Does your Latino wife know she’s married to a turd ball hypocrite?” Nigal 11:06:57 AM 11/18/03 “I’m so offended that if matt doesn't delete this thread I'll skulk off and badmouth him on every other backpacking board on the internet.” VioLiN 11:14:35 AM 11/18/03 “Awe, poor Violin! When I post something like, "Dirty Mexicans deserve to die!". Then you can throw a little hissy fit. 'Til then, quit your hypocrtical whinning.” Nigal 11:18:34 AM 11/18/03 Good gravy. I don’t even like you V and yet I’m intensely embarrassed for you still. It’s even worse than lying V. Now you are a liar AND a race baiter. The thread… http://www.thebackpacker.com/trailtalk/thread/22054,-1,7.php” 8:29:21 AM 10/20/04 “BTW Racebaiter, where's your proof of Wanderer being a racist?” 8:41:15 AM 10/20/04 “ ”10:52:14 AM 10/20/04 “OK - now that I see that, I think that Violin's excerpt from the Democrat's hate latinos discussion should have gone on the "out of context quotes" thread. I don't think that kind of out of context quoting in threads like this is fair play. I learn a lot from the info Violin posts here, and I think he makes TT more fun - but I'm not pleased about being misled here. Now, I could be interested in an argument that says using a phrase like Nigal did - even by putting in in quotes and making it a "hypothetical" statement in an example - is provocative, insensitive, or mean (I'd certainly say "insensitive" - knowing that term could describe some of my posts as well). I'd even be interested in argument that said even that statement showed hidden bigotry (I wouldn't make that interpretation, myself) - but stripping the line of it's quotation marks and it's context skips all those steps and simply paints Nigal as a nasty racist. I'd be really pissed if someone did that to me, which they could if they just took the "wetback" quote from my story and attributed it to me directly.” 10:54:19 AM 10/20/04 “Sorry dude. Lying is not trolling. The sadest thing is you try to make this all about race and then turn around and show yourself to be such a poor example. You don't seem to show yourself to be any of the good things I have come to know Latinos to be...honest, hard working, family oriented. Still, I don't hold this to be an example of discrediting your heritage. I'm sure you'd be a disgracfull person weather you were Japanese, Latino, African American or Irish. you're still a race baiting liar...” 10:56:29 AM 10/20/04 “The funny thing Ped is that there's not even a hint of racism in any of my remarks. No slurs. No innuendo. Nothing but straight shooting facts and feelings. V was the one who got nasty about the whole thing.” 10:58:57 AM 10/20/04 “Nigal - I never spotted anything that suggested you were at all racist and I've been ready to slam people who said racist stuff here. As for the nasty stuff, I've seen you and the vile man sling it back and forth and really don't know where it started and haven't kept score. BTW: Do you know where the thread on Sudan went, I threw out an off the cuff idea ("maybe we should...") and you said it was dumb. You were right and I meant to say you were right, but I never found the thread (this was quite a while ago).” 11:39:41 AM 10/20/04 “OK, OK already. My father taught me (when attacked) to come back swinging like a madman. When wanderer started with his standard MO of personal attacks because he doesn't like the subject matter, I hit back with what I had seen get a rise before. I have no direct evidence that he is a racist. Nigal got the internet version of an elbow in the eye while trying to jump into the brawl. I is sorry. Back to the subject: I see Dubya has picked up the coveted mullah endorsement. Bush Receives Endorsement From Iran By ALI AKBAR DAREINI Associated Press Writer October 19, 2004, 6:33 PM EDT TEHRAN, Iran -- The head of Iran's security council said Tuesday that the re-election of President Bush was in Tehran's best interests, despite the administration's axis of evil label, accusations that Iran harbors al-Qaida terrorists and threats of sanctions over the country's nuclear ambitions. Historically, Democrats have harmed Iran more than Republicans, said Hasan Rowhani, head of the Supreme National Security Council, Iran's top security decision-making body. "We haven't seen anything good from Democrats," Rowhani told state-run television in remarks that, for the first time in recent decades, saw Iran openly supporting one U.S. presidential candidate over another. Though Iran generally does not publicly wade into U.S. presidential politics, it has a history of preferring Republicans over Democrats, who tend to press human rights issues. "We do not desire to see Democrats take over," Rowhani said when asked if Iran was supporting Democratic Sen. John Kerry against Bush. <snip> The United States severed diplomatic relations with Iran after militants stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979 and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days. Iranian clerics were crucial in determining the fate of the 1980 U.S. election when Republican Ronald Reagan won in part because Democratic incumbent Jimmy Carter was unable to secure the hostages' release. The hostages were freed as Reagan was inaugurated. <snip> Iranian political analyst Mohsen Mofidi said ousting the Taliban and Saddam was the "biggest service any administration could have done for Iran." <snip> Mofidi added that "Democrats usually insist on human rights and they will have more excuses to pressure Iran." <snip>” 11:47:59 AM 10/20/04 “LOL - Violin, if you want to fight dirty, take some notes from me. Nigal just fed you a big bite of sh#t sandwich, ya amateur! Now your credibility is tarnished, and people are going to think twice before believing you about anything! Whoo, bad day on trail talk, huh? ;-)” 3:55:16 PM 10/20/04 “Violin had credibility before? ;-)” 4:27:11 PM 10/20/04 “I was wondering.” 4:29:02 PM 10/20/04 “Three thoughts: 1) LOL @ Mutt. 2) We should all think at least once before believing what we here. Twice ain't bad. 3) Personally, I respect an apology and someone who owns their slips.” 4:45:27 PM 10/20/04 Former NYC mayor rallies Jews for Bush admin. “Former NYC mayor rallies Jews for Bush admin. [Avi Berkowitz/The Daily Pennsylvanian] Former New York Mayor Ed Koch stumped for President George W. Bush yesterday afternoon in Steinhardt Hall. Koch told a primarily Jewish audience to support Bush for his stance on Israel and counterterrorism. By jessica natbony October 21, 2004 Former Democratic New York Mayor Ed Koch advocated the re-election of current President George W. Bush in a speech at Steinhardt Hall yesterday. Eric Rechtschaffen, president of the Penn College Republicans and a College junior, introduced Koch's speech by posing the question: Why would the College Republicans bring in a Democratic speaker? Rechtschaffen claimed that Koch "represents a unique perspective." "I am a Democrat ... and don't agree with George W. Bush on a single domestic issue ... but I'm voting for Bush because all issues are trumped by the single issue of international terrorism," Koch said. Labeling the current war a "war of civilizations," Koch supported Bush's aggressive policy and steadfast demeanor in dealing with the ramifications of a post-Sept. 11 world. Americans "are in the middle of a war ... [and] John Kerry is not, on this issue, to be trusted," Koch said, highlighting the point that if Kerry were to be elected, there would be a proliferation of international terrorist activity. http://www.dailypennsylvanian.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2004/10/21/41775d694e982” 9:26:09 AM 10/21/04 “Well, if Ed Koch is going to vote for him, I'd better, too! Baaaaa! Baaaaa!” 9:45:41 AM 10/21/04 “Violin had credibility before? ;-) Yeah, really. What the hell was I thinking?” 9:48:01 AM 10/21/04 “Here comes the Mutt swingin' from a tree!!” 9:50:13 AM 10/21/04 “Yeah, Mark, I've been having one hell of a good time in the autumn woods lately. Good climbing, good hiking, good fall colors...” 9:54:09 AM 10/21/04 “AP - According to an ongoing tally by Editor & Publisher, a newspaper industry magazine, so far 125 newspapers have endorsed Kerry including at least 35 that had endorsed Bush in 2000 vs. 96 for Bush. Meanwhile, only two newspapers that went for Al Gore in 2000 have endorsed Bush.” 7:34:01 AM 10/26/04 “The major media isn't biased. This is proof! ;-)” 7:38:35 AM 10/26/04 “No kidding, stomper.” 8:10:58 AM 10/26/04 “Ya know your guy's got NOTHING when all you can fall back on is 1) he's not Bush and 2) look who else is supporting him.” 8:13:36 AM 10/26/04 “The only thing Ed Koch has been a candidate for in recent years is a rubber room. The guy has totally lost it of late! last edited: 10/26/04 8:23:28 AM” 8:17:01 AM 10/26/04 “Hey this proves Mutt was totally right about the "Chicomms"! http://www.starbucks.com/retail/locator/MapResults.aspx?storeKey=12616” 4:29:15 PM 10/26/04 4:30:15 PM 10/26/04 “btw: I do think the fact that 35 papers that endorsed Bush in 2000 have switched to Kerry says something, especially with only 2 papers switching from Gore to Bush. You can't dismiss the 35 that supported Bush last time as diehard Dems.” 4:31:44 PM 10/26/04
