LMAO! Wish I had a digital camera. I woke up late, dressed (t-shirt, jeans, sneakers)and went to work. No shower, no shave. I haven't shaved since Saturday. When I have time to "do my hair" after I shower: 1. Brush hair back once 2. Run fingers once through hair to pull forward. Time: 1 minute???? How metro is that?” 4:36:14 PM 10/25/04 “I don't. But I do get my hair cut in Seattle proper, as in downtown Sea (when I'm not cutting it myself.) I know places charge as much as $100 for a cut, but my hairdresser only charges me $30. I've been going to him for 10 years.” 4:38:19 PM 10/25/04 4:40:35 PM 10/25/04 “I know most of my female friends are usually charged $50-75 for their haircuts in Auburn, Alabama. Find yourself a barber and stop going to a beautician. That $50-75 does not include any color work they might get done on their hair...” 4:43:29 PM 10/25/04 “Yes. Seattle is expensive. We must realize these are averages and DC probably has a bigger difference in rental rates depending on 'hoods. I have a relatively cheap studio for The "good side" of DC. I pay $960/mo. My rent goes up every year. First increase: 13.5% 2nd: 7% 3rd: 3% 4th: I'm skeered. We've had another realestate boom in my area. A 7 figure condo complex just went up East of what was the border between good and bad. The dilapitated building next to us was renovated and there studios start at $1200. My off street reserved parking spot is currently $130/mo with an increase likely. I'm probably being gentrified out.” 5:01:27 PM 10/25/04 “He still didn't tell us how much he spends on his hair. LOL. I have a roomie b/c I can't afford to live alone. Studios start at around $600ish/mo” 5:02:47 PM 10/25/04 “How about I spend 40-50 on groceries/wk? I shop in Virginia at a Shoppers. IOne average, Safeway in DC is @30% more! Finding produce at Shoppers is almost the same as going to a thrift store: you have to dig through a ton of crap to find something decent! And since di keeps nagging me ;) I probably, on average, get my haircut every 6 weeks. last edited: 10/25/04 5:12:25 PM” 5:10:23 PM 10/25/04 “Kids, stop fussing over who is more or less high maintenance. Sheeshola! Who cares? You're giving me a headache. ;) Let's get back to sexy shoes (and sexy outfits).” 5:18:25 PM 10/25/04 “I second that!” 5:21:30 PM 10/25/04 “But he's so fun and easy to pick on! :D so... that's every 6 weeks at (prolly) $75-$100 a pop. So that is about 8-9 times a year... ~$700 on your hair!! Yeah... that's A LOT! Metrosexual indeed! last edited: 10/25/04 5:28:13 PM” 5:26:50 PM 10/25/04 “more about hair.... AMY WINEHOUSE LYRICS Fu˘k Me Pumps When you walk in the bar, And you dressed like a star, Rockin' your F me pumps. And the men notice you, With your Gucci bag crew, Can't tell who he's lookin' to. Cuz you all look the same, Everyone knows your name, And that's you whole claim to fame. Never miss a night, Cuz your dream in life, Is to be a footballers wife. You don't like players, That's what you say-a, But you really wouldn't mind a millionaire. You don't like ballers, They don't do nothing for ya, But you'd love a rich man six foot two or taller. You're more than a fan, Lookin' for a man, But you end up with one-nights-stands. He could be your whole life, If you got past one night, But that part never goes right. In the morning you're vexed, He's onto the next, And you didn't even get no taste. Don't be too upset, If they call you a skank, Cuz like the news everyday you get pressed. You don't like players, That's what you say-a, But you really wouldn't mind a millionaire. Or them big balers, Don't do nothing for ya. But you'd love a rich man six foot two or taller, You can't sit down right, Cuz you jeans are too tight, And your lucky its ladies night. With your big empty purse, Every week it gets worse, At least your breasts cost more than hers. So you did Miami, Cuz you got there for free, But somehow you missed the plane. You did too much E, Met somebody, And spent the night getting cane. Without girls like you, There'd be no fun, We'd go to the club and not see anyone. Without girls like you, There's no nightlife, All those just go home to their wives. Don't be mad at me, Cuz your brushing thirty, And your old tricks no longer work. You should have known from the job, That you always get dumped, So dust off your fu˘k me pumps. last edited: 10/25/04 6:46:03 PM” 6:45:31 PM 10/25/04 “I found a great Halloween costume if I could figure out how to post the picture.” 7:42:08 PM 10/25/04 “ ![]() My link probably won't work. DAVID LEE ROTH lyrics - "Sensible Shoes" I got a fast car, go cruisin' down the highway A corvette stingray, I do it my way Got a good job, makin' lots of money I look good and I'm funny, so why'm I lonesome honey The gypsy said the problem with you You need some sensible shoes Look at this black book, it's loaded with phone numbers Potential lovers, new worlds to discover You would think I really have it made now New rayban shades but I'm a heartache on parade now I walk around with the blues I need some sensible shoes Sensible shoes, ones that will lead me back to you Sensible shoes, cuz you're the only lover who was ever true I need some sensible shoes All my friends now, they look up to me They wish they could be a lot more like me But they don't know and they can't see How I'm hurtin', how I'm empty Lost my soul when I walked out on you I need some sensible shoes Sensible shoes, ones that will lead me back to you Sensible shoes, cuz you're the only lover who was ever true I need some sensible shoes I got a fast car, go cruisin' down the highway A corvette stingray, I do it my way Got a good job, makin' lots of money I look good and I'm funny, so why'm I lonesome honey The gypsy said the problem with you Ah, you know Sensible shoes, ones that will lead me back to you Sensible shoes, cuz you're the only lover who was ever true Sensible shoes, ones that will lead me back to you Sensible shoes, cuz you're the only lover that was ever true I need some sensible shoes and an article that's for high-heeled shoes: http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_266375.html Sensible shoes 'do more damage to feet' Sensible court shoes could be doing women more damage than the much-maligned stiletto, according to new research. Wide-heeled shoes with plenty of toe space may actually put women more at risk from the bone disease osteoporosis than spindly, spiked stilettos, a study in The Lancet found. Health experts have long advised women to eschew high fashion - in the form of precariously-formed high heels - for more comfortable footwear. Twice as many women as men suffer from osteoporosis of the knee, even though walking barefoot exerts similar pressures in both the sexes, suggesting that feminine footwear is to blame. Researchers from Harvard Medical School in the United States analysed 20 women as they walked barefoot, in wide-heeled shoes and then in stilettos, measuring the pressures placed on knee joints by the different types of shoes. Both types of shoe had heels of seven centimetres, but the stilettos had a base just 1.2cm wide, compared to the court shoes which were 4.5cm wide. The two different shoes increased a specific knee-joint pressure called the varus torque but the wide-heeled shoes increased pressure by 26% from the normal rate when standing, compared to a 22% increase in pressure when women walked in the stilettos. Walking in the wide-heeled shoes caused 30% more pressure than when walking barefoot. The extra pressure on the knee joint means the quadriceps muscles in the thigh have to work harder, which increases the pressure on the kneecap. This part of the body is often the site of degenerative joint changes and diseases such as osteoporosis. Report author Dr Casey Kerrigan from Harvard Medical School said: "We recommend wearing shoes with low or preferably no heels."” 9:14:38 AM 10/26/04 “hubba hubba Ruby. Trick or Treat!” 9:18:09 AM 10/26/04 “More about shoes... I've got on my camel brown DKNY loafers w/ 2" heels that I got on ebay for $9 (inclu shipping) :)” 9:20:15 AM 10/26/04 “Yikes Vic!” 9:21:58 AM 10/26/04 “Oh... and Pixie, Turtle and I went shoe shopping on Sunday... I bought 3 pairs! (Okay, so I bought 4, but I'm taking one pair back) silver slide sandals (perfect for vegas!) with a 1.5 inch wood heel... 2 straps making a bow on the top of the foot. Originally $60, I got them for $22. sparkly red sandals with a 2.5 inch satin covered heel... 2 sparkly straps that go over the top of the foot, 2 that go over the upper part of the foot/ankle, then a red satin that ribbon wraps up the ankle (very sexy!) Originally $50, I got them for $13. And last, but not least, a pair of Franco Sarto slides in slate blue. 2.5" black heel, and the straps end in a 3 petaled flower just above the toes. The straps are also trimmed with white thread. Originally $80, I paid $22. SHOES ROCK! :)” 9:29:00 AM 10/26/04 “I bought a pair of Born sandals Sunday... they were 75% off. Not sure about the color... as I ususally prefer a dark brown sandal... but for $20 who's to argue? ”9:31:00 AM 10/26/04 “Those kinda look like slippers...comfy? I hope you don't have typical men's toenails. LOL! ;)” 9:34:05 AM 10/26/04 “Well my Birkenstocks are getting old... well.. one of my two pairs is getting old and need to be retired. Thought I'd try something different. Dunno about typical men's tonails... but the big toenail on my right foot is still misshapen from where I injured it several years ago playing soccer. They are amazingly comfy... as I have come to expect from Born. They styling is a little metro but as my co-workers have said I seem to be able to get away with wearing lots of odd stuff most everyone else couldn't wear.” 9:37:55 AM 10/26/04 “WOW, those are sharp! DEid you get those online? I gotta get me a pair!” 9:39:17 AM 10/26/04 “LOL... Deo-- the real question di should have asked you is if you get pedicures on a regular basis... most men have pretty gnarly toenails...” 9:39:42 AM 10/26/04 “I got them from a Dillards in the mall. They had all their men's slippers 75% off. They had some pretty cool Kenneth Cole slide... some neat Timberland sandals and slides...” 9:40:23 AM 10/26/04 “Well you are a metro sort of guy... In fact, they are quite comfy. Around here they are just generally associated with the granola/hippie set. lol.” 10:36:43 AM 10/26/04 “Well when I was in college I was a granola hippie who went mountain biking every day :P I bought a pair of Birks at a second hand/ irregular shoe shop for $40 and wore the same pair for the next 7 years... getting the footbeds and soles replaced twice. I bet I wore mine 200 out of the 365 days of the year.” 10:46:05 AM 10/26/04 “LOL!! Hippie!!! I bet you still have your tie dye too!” 10:50:42 AM 10/26/04 “I was never into tie die... but I do have my Allgood shirt... and all my Widespread panic and Phish CD's...” 10:58:50 AM 10/26/04 “hehehe... we could talk Hippie music!
