I think it's sad that society dictates that men can't wear bright colors except in a Hawaiian shirt. Bright colors are so cheery.

Um yeah. Most guys think Hawaiian shirts are really cool. Then Office Space made it Hawaiian shirt Friday all of the US. I had to buy a Hawaiian shirt when I was at T-Mobile to fit in.

"professional" depends upon your profession... :-)

Deore-- you didn't know that guys could wear Hawaiian shirts?! shame on you! I thought for sure you'd have a lot of them in your fully-loaded closet!

AND... only a REAL Man could wear pink and not have anyone give him any flack about it.

That's what outrageous ties are for. A man can look professional and conservative or demure, but be wearing the most outstanding tie. Oo la la! That gets me going all the time!!! When a man demonstrates professionality and be understated with a suit like that, but has a really cool tie, it always makes me wonder what he would be like without all those clothes on. If he has good shoes as well, BONUS! That tells me here's a man who is not lacksidaisical with his appearance, he notices the small things, he has a sense of style, he has a sense of professionalism and a good sense of adventure. (Or the woman who dresses him does.) Those thoughts can usually keep me going through any boring deposition.

Hmmmmmm.....am I sharing too much?

Ruby-- I think the key to most men is your phrase "(Or the woman who dresses him does."

;-)

My biggest beef is with people who dress like a million bucks and then smile with a mouthful of rotten teeth....Blechy! I could never understand why, if you have enough money for the designer clothes and the "bling bling", people would let their oral hygiene go....

LOL @ BM...

I'm with Ruby, I look for the tie and shoes...and NO jewelry - gawd!
I used to buy ties for an X that were really sexy, but he was too conservative to wear most of them.

DeoreDX (what does that mean, anyway?) the only thing I remember about my wardrobe of last week, or yesterday even, is that I had on black waldies. Once the weather cools (like now) I have an assortment of LLBean cotton long sleeve shirts in solid colors, and I grab whichever one is clean.

You don't offend me... you disgust me. What if some 12yo who is getting into backpacking browsing the internet came across that post? Is that how you want yourself remembered, how you want to represent yourself in public, is that how you want the forums of thebackpacker.com thought of? When I'm with my friends probably talk that bad if not worse... but there is a time and place for everything and a public web forum isn't where I chose to graphically discuss my sex life. I don't look at your post and say "omg that's offensive!" I look at it and wonder what in the world would motivate a (supposedly) grown man to feel the need to talk about such things in public. Are you trying to impress someone? Are you trying to prove something to us? I could be wrong... maybe others around here enjoy reading that crap about your sex life but I for one do not. Would you walk down the street and talk about the smell of a female on your goatee to some complete stranger walking the other way? That's essentially what you've done posting your exploits for all to see on a public forum. It's been a while since I've seen you post something constructive what wasn't either some sort of bitter retort or sexually in nature... so I feel I can safely ignore all your posts and not lose anything from my life. I have no qualms showing anyone anything I've ever posted on the boards. Can you say the same thing? Would this ex-gf you talk about enjoy you discussing these personal things to a bunch of strangers? That's just my personal feelings on the subject. But...it doesn't matter now... I have you ignored on this user too :)

Anyhoo...

I wore the cowboy hat because today at work was "spirit" day where you dress up in your favorite team colors. I wore some jeans, an untucked orange polo and a cowboy hat that I have that is adorned with a silver Auburn emblem.

Well damn! Thems fightin wurds!

Then again, it is kind of wimpy when someone keeps a-talkin, accusin things about a person while ignorin that person.

I specially don't take kindly to it when some shoe lovin pansy is doin it to my cousin Magnet.

DDX, cool on the hat. I have two cowboy hats that I wear, but not to work. Sometimes I wear one when going out for the evening. I have also worn my straw one while backpacking. Get lots of compliments on it when I do. But I don't have a buckle or boots or cowbow shirts. Just the hat.
