I love shoes SO much
I thought they needed their own thread.

So let's talk shoes. I love em. Particularly BCBG's. I have quite a few pairs I scored cheap at Nordstrom Rack. Nordstrom Rack is God's gift of shoes. Thank the Lord! Halleluia!

Today I'm wearing my dark brown suede boots I bought in France.

YAY FOR SHOES!!!!

Pixie-- you're right... nothing beats an awesome pair of shoes...

My trouble is finding them wide enough-- I have pretty wide feet and 90% of the time I have to get about 1/2 size larger than I need or I can't wear them! :-P

DSW is by my house.. and there's a really crazy shoe place in the building where I work!

Kenneth Cole makes nice men's shoes.

Oh, I've heard of DSW then. Ok.

Bear doesn't understand that it's hard to be high maintenance and be a backpacker, I guess.

My new hunting ground for cheap designers shoes is now the TJ Max they opened bup beside my house. I picked up a bad-ass pair of Borns there for $30.

Sorry, but ...
Anyone who wears shoes by a company with a chi-chi French name is, or seems to me to be, high maintenance.

BCBG (BAYsayBAYJAY) - beau chic bon genre - is the term for old money class and style.

pixaxe-- ^5, I'm the same way. The only time I really spend any time getting dressed up is if I'm going to a banquet or something like that. I'm not a fashion maven, I prefer to keep things simple--If I find something I like, I will wear it... :-)

However, I DO love to find cool shoes--especially when they fit well! :-)

She's just a girly girl, that's all! ;)

dicentra-- how funny, I like those too! (but maybe in Black in stead).

I swing dance and they make a great retro look!
requirements for "swing dance" shoes...
1) they have to have a strap
2) leather soles
3) must be comfy!

This argument has come up numerous times with our friends.

We have had long drunken debates on what we consider, "high maintainance" to be. Everyone has their own defination of it.

It's not just your clothing labels that can make you this way.

From what I have read about Pixie from above, I would say she is far from high maintainance. Pixie, you sound a lot like my wife, except you like to backpack. She only likes to car camp, however I did get her up canoeing in Canada for a week. She did enjoy that.

Pixie just likes girly things. What woman doesn't like shoes and make up?

People might consider me high maintainance due to the name brand gear I buy. I don't like to shop at Wal Mart for my stuff.

It all depends upon how you and your spouse/sig other view each other....
one person's idea of high maintenance is another's version of low maintenance... ;-)

If your SO or spouse doesn't find you high maintenance, then that's cool! :-) Obviously, you have similar mindsets or you probably wouldn't be together... :-)

However, I did know a guy who would NEVER buy sales...(by that I mean that the thought never even occurred to him to seek out clothes, etc. that were on sale-- he just always bought things he liked, when he liked them and didn't mind paying full price. The ladies in our office at the time looked at him with shock (we are all bargain hunters!) To me, there's nothing like finding an $80 pair of designer shoes for $20...it makes me feel like I get more for my money that way... :-)

I've always been a little bit "tomboy", but I also like my girly-girl stuff, too! :-)

Like these shoes, for instance:
