killed by a non-lethal weapon “Key phrases in bold: BOSTON - A college student died Thursday of a head injury suffered in a clash between police officers and a crowd of Red Sox fans who poured into the streets outside Fenway Park to celebrate their team's victory over the New York Yankees (news). Victoria Snelgrove, a 21-year-old journalism major at Emerson College, was among 16 people hurt in the revelry in Boston. The injured also included a police officer. Most of the injuries were minor, but Snelgrove suffered a severe head wound as police tried to subdue the crowd, authorities said. Mayor Tom Menino told WBZ-AM that she was struck by a "non-lethal weapon," but he did not elaborate. last edited: 10/21/04 5:20:01 PM” 5:19:41 PM 10/21/04 “Menino is a decent mayor, but if this isn't out of context, he definitely should be up for a doubletalk award.” 5:21:05 PM 10/21/04 “That's just terrible.” 5:27:14 PM 10/21/04 “Well, he's a democrat. And since Kerry was nominated, double talk has become fashionable among democrats...” 5:28:36 PM 10/21/04 “That is why Teresa Kerry get's such bad press. She speaks her mind. The media hates that.” 5:45:44 PM 10/21/04 “Less than lethal is the appropriate term. It was nothing more than someone using the wrong adjective for the right subject. The term less than lethal is used because in the vast majority of cases it is just that. Nothing is non-lethal. We all use the wrong term from time to time. How many of you have used the term gas-mask for the the mask that soldiers use in NBC environments. Wrong. It is called a protective mask because no gas is supplied for the soldier to breathe. People just say gas-mask. Bottom line he used the wrong word. He's a mayor, not a tactical officer.” 6:06:26 PM 10/21/04 “It's horrible no matter how you say it.” 9:22:33 PM 10/21/04 “in other words, its #&%!$ing semantics!” 10:16:27 PM 10/21/04 “Why is it that every other city, besides New York ( LA with the Lakers, and Chi town with the Bulls, and now Boston) feel they have to riot in the streets, destroy property, blow up cars, and KILLpeople because their team won. I don't get it. Isn't this supossed to be a happy time? With all the championships NY has won in the 80's and 90's with the Yankees, Giants, and Rangers, not once did this happen! Act like you've been there before people.” 7:05:31 AM 10/22/04
