It would probably be tight with 3 people in it. I have a two-man tent that’s only 14" narrower and with two people in it, if one person moves at all while they sleep, they bump into the other person.

Note: I'm referring to the tent mapleleaf posted the link for.

Our Kelty Vortex (was $170) weighs in at 7 pounds for a huge 3 person tent. The Eureka Timberlite 3 or 4 person is also a big tent that weighs less and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

no, just being really serious.

9lbs is a HEAVY tent.

when I was 16, and started buying my own gear, I didstuff like that. Just because I liked the tent.

I had no idea how that weight will add up.

No illwill intended...

That tent weighs under 2lbs.

Maple, i think we can do better for 200 bucks. These folks are right about the weight, too. Frankly, I was wondering how the hell two people can sleep comfortably in that, much less three! Besides, when we go BPing, it's usually just the two of us. You inviting guests? If so, who is she?

just a casual note Blind Willie but doing business with wanderlust gear is questionable at best and down right awful at the worse - a lot of people are very unhappy with the person who runs wanderlust gear. The tent is good but buy it from somewhere else (ebay).

Mapes..
I just went thru this same process of trying to find a 2 person, 3 season tent.
I looked at the Hubba Hubba, REI Half Dome,
Marmot Swallow, Sierra Designs Reverse Combi. All the tents, with the exception of the Marmot weighed aprox 5 lbs. (Marmot was also 9lbs but a very cool tent.)

I eventually settled on the Sierra Designs because of the added accessories that come with the tent. (Footprint,Gear Loft, Coffee Slings)

http://www.thebackpacker.com/trailtalk/thread/38533,-1.php

I bought the tent on sale at REI for $200.
Normally $239

We've not had the chance to use it other than in the back yard, but I like the 2 door entry and vestibule area's for each bp'r. Hope this helps. Good luck

I ordered mine and it took a month, but I am highly satisfied. Great tent, and no bugs.

Maple, go to e-bay and put in Eureka tent... personally, I like the brand. I have the 1,3 and 6 person models. (Tetragon 6 and 9). the Tetragon 6 is a 3 person tent,(6'x6') weighs 6 pounds and has lots of ventilation. The Wal-Mart brand or Coleman is just as good in my opinion as my friends have them for car camping and they seem to hold up well and are just as light. (don't use white bathtub caulk for seam sealer) LOL

Oh, and I'll be glad to make the sign for you !! www.kingsbaysigns.com

Maple - I'm really happy w/ my REI Half Dome. Can't remember how much it weighs or costs and the REI site appears to be temporarily down... But, I love it. Two doors. Two vestibules. Great cross breezes in warm weather. Comfortably sleeps two.

I have been looking for a new tent (two people) but have decided to hold off on that until I get a new one person shelter.

If I get a two person tent, it will be a Big Agnes or the HubbaHubba
