“I am for sure not qualified to "teach" people to cave. Sure wish I knew where more where that are not private or bought by grottos. I hear there are hundreds of caves on public land near Chattanooga,TN. One thing is for sure. there has to be TAG (Tn, Al, Ga Grotto) member on TT somewhere.

Gemini, I looked at your webshots photos... I wish that I had my old pics hiking to Leconte last year. I was brand new to backpacking and that hike was a BOOGER with my out of shape legs at the time. I was worn out just making it up the bluffs with my pack... I felt like a wuss at the time.
hard to keep the legs in shape since all the good hills and mountains are about 4-6 hours away.”

Caving - I was chairman of the Smoky Mt. Grotto of the NSS in Knoxville a long time ago. TAG has hundreds of caves and pits.
Still have my gear but living here on the coast now has stopped my caving.

I have always wanted to sea kayak out to Horn Island. The only problem is that I dont have a touring kayak and it just seemed less fun to take a ferry out there and camp. I hear that it is beautiful on those beaches.

There is a rental place in Bay St. Louis that will rent Perception Shadows sea kayaks. I've been wanting to paddle out to Cat Island myself.

Oh, and one more thing, most of us on TT are older than you. We don't hold that against you, but some young folks havn't learned they can still be friends with 'old' people. Like that hottie Gemini girl, she's old enought to be your mama. ;-)

“For those of you in or around north Miss. there is a great organization called Ole Miss Outdoors at Ole Miss, OMOD for short.
Anyone can go on their trips as long as you sign up in time. They rent gear for for friends that dont have sutff too!
