Yah, take a pregnant woman to see it (Alien). The scary part will be what she threatens to do to your private parts afterward.

I give it five guts (on a scale of 1 - 5)

Rent Silent Night, Deadly Night. It is more of a Chrismas slasher movie. Not real scary, but it will get some laughs.

i sort of liked valentine ( I think that's what it was called) yeah, it was a little cheesy, but I liked it. Sort of predictable too. I think for halloween you do WANT cheesy and scary.

texas chain masacre (new version) would be another one.

jeepers creepers
( did like that one too)

Ring was good, but not cheesy enough, also not scary enough.

Psycho!
One of my dormmates in college was John Gavin's daughter. Our dorm put on a musical, and Mr. G. came to see it. Before the show, I had to go to the bathroom. So there I was, peeing next to John Gavin. "Hi, er, um, nice to meet you...."

the original Draucla, Frankenstein, Mummy and Werewolf movies got me as a kid.

Those movies would bomb today since there are no special effects in them.

IMO they are classics!!

I don't like scary movies at all.

Does anyone remember seeing a made-for-tv movie called "Sssss" it was about this guy who accidentally ingests snake venom and becomes a snake in a freak show....

All I remember is having nightmares of my family being eaten by snakes after watching that show on TV....

Turner Classic Movies had Dracula, The Mummy, The Wolf Man, The Invisible Man, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and Son of Frankenstein on last night.

I got home a little late last night, but still watched the second half of The Mummy, all of The Wolf Man and The Invisibile Man, and the start of Frankenstein before I started falling asleep.

Man, I love those old movies with Boris and Bela.

A week or so ago, I watched one that I had not seen before: Devil Bat. Holy Cow, was it cheesy! The best part is that there was a Devil Bat's Daughter movie made. Awesome!!

So, what's a good scary movie to watch on Halloween? I don't want anything too gory or graphic...something that's more on the psychological thriller side. And SCARY, not horror/horrific! Also I don't want anything too old, and I've already thought of or seen all the classics.

that 1408 movie will make chills run down your spine. Houses of 1000 corpses was a damn funny movie, but I didn't think it was scary.

According to imdb.com, House of 1000 Corpses has "strong sadistic violence/gore." I want something to make me scared, not deeply disturbed!

We saw 1408 last week, that was good.

ok, i retract my statement. it was much more disturbing than it was scary, but definitely still left me scared to sleep with all the lights off. 1408 was really good but i didnt think it was all THAT scary. (john cusack *swoon*)
if i want to be really scared, i read a scary book. movies are too hollywoodized anymore for me. :/
