Greeley! Sounds like you'll be living on the "edge." Only 999.8 miles from the south side of Chicago, the last time I drove it.

From Niwot, a friend and I dayhiked a different mountain everyday for 25 days. Long's Peak was the last hike. You should have a ball living there.

Congratulations and best wishes.

Hey, congrats...make sure you contact the gang in Colorado for some hiking/climbing/bping. When are arriving? I did not take the time to read all though the posts if you mentioned when you were moving to Colorado. We have about 11 people meeting this weekend to hike over by Mt. Evans.

Yes, I was hoping to get this move worked out in time to come hang out with you guys at Mt. Evans, but I won't be arriving until around Nov 8 or so.

I'll be in touch though!

Ewker...
I am doing fine...just gotta get through chemistry...ok with other classes. Hubby's busy season is winding down, so we plan to do some winter mountaineering...well, after we finish the downstairs bathroom...aren't you glad you asked. BTW, Woodsie is moving back to Tennessee...or one of those states.

BTW...
tell me sumpting about Roaming? I am usually over at the magazine site, but I like it here, too....I just have a full life and there is just soooo much to read. The other place is bogging down with lies and more political lies...HOW BORING. Anyway, gee, I like the newer colors here...more appealing...kinda draws me to this place. You are all lucky.

Anyway, back to the original sin...don't know much about Roaming...tell me some tales of woe, humor, lies (but not political lies, PLEASE)...whatever!

Roaming is the fine art of exploring this great country and living in many different places over a fairly short amount of time.

Now Gemini, I kinda have a hunch that I'm gonna like it in CO enough to stay for a while. Mountains, snow, nice summers, mountains, oh yeah and big mountains. Yeah, I'm gonna like it.

The job is pretty good too.

The THING has come Alive! ...Again!
Congrats, Man! So you're leaving around Thanksgiving? So, when are we doing a Welcome to Colorado hike?

The Collegiate Range calls; do you answer them?

Guess I better add "Newark-Liberty to Denver" to my discounted airfare alerts...

If you listen real close you can still hear Horace Greeley:

"Go West Young Man!"

The nice thing about Greeley is you're far enough away from the congestion around Denver but only 40 mile straight shot through Loveland to the mountains!

He was born in the summer of his 27th year
Comin' home to a place he'd never been before
He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again
You might say he found a key for every door

When he first came to the mountains his life was far away
On the road and hangin' by a song
But the string's already broken and he doesn't really care
It keeps changin' fast and it don't last for long

But the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullabye
Rocky mountain high

He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below
He saw everything as far as you can see
And they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun
And he lost a friend but kept his memory

Now he walks in quiet solitude the forest and the streams
Seeking grace in every step he takes
His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand
The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake

And the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
You can talk to God and listen to the casual reply
Rocky mountain high

Now his life is full of wonder but his heart still knows some fear
Of a simple thing he cannot comprehend
Why they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more
More people, more scars upon the land

And the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
I know he'd be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly
Rocky mountain high

It's Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
Friends around the campfire and everybody's high
Rocky mountain high
