2004 (Oct 23) Virginia Lakes Snowshoe Dayhike in a storm

Day 1 of a 3 day trip. Due to the early snowfall in the White Mtns, we had to change our plans. Didn't do Boundary/Montgomery Pks, and looked for any trail that was accessible

More beautiful. I got cold just looking, although I expect you guys were warm from the exertion.

Great pictures. I bet that old cabin has seen a lot of snow storms.

Every year I hope Illinois somehow gets a lot of snow, and by each Spring I'm pretty much disappointed.

Great trip. How was the road to the trailhead?

Loved the vista shots at the end. Neat colors and everything!

Hey girl! Glad I had on a sweatshirt when I was looking at you pics. Very beautiful. I loved the last few with the sky colors. And the snowing pictures had a nice ethereal quality.

Thanks again for the heads up on the CF card, I got one. I am going to be sorta out your way Jan-Feb (NM, AZ, UT) to see how cold it gets.

Snow Nymph-

It's always so nice to see your passion for the mountains lived out by where you go. Stormy weather or calm, you're there.

Thanks for sharing your photos. I enjoyed them.

Yes, I'm back! Geez, WW, I don't know???? I sent you an e-mail. I'm a newbie at this.

Phil, the picture is the lake just before Tamarack Lodge, I think Twin Lakes? Our friends got married there in June, and we all stood on that bridge ( http://community.webshots.com/photo/153898326/168018810XbDhvU )

Phil, I drove right up to the lake. A little snow, but it was plowed.

Tango, I wish I would have stopped to get some of those sky colors. A lot of them were blurry because I was driving when I took them. We were meeting people for dinner and were running late.

Mammoth got 2 more feet of powder the week after that picture was taken. The mountain got 82" snow in October!
