I believe in supporting the troops, whether or not I agree the government that sent them away.... (although, when the troops commit cruel and unusual torture towards others, I DON't support that type of behavior.)

My dad used to say that 2 types of people have no say in what they do:

Students and Soldiers....

i.e. a student has to follow a curriculum to get to their end goal of whatever degree or diploma they need.... a soldier has to follow the commanding officer's lead, no matter whether or not they agree with the decision...

Both Students and Soldiers basically have made the commitment to follow a certain path in life... (although students have an easier way out...)”

“I didn't plan too much for this trip. I went ultralight with this one and packed only the clothes on my back. At first I was slightly hindered by the lack of illuminuation of the facilities, but I solved the problem with a flick of the light switch. I know hindsight is 20/20, but I should have thought ahead and made sure there was TP on the roll at my destination. An excited dog jumping on me and hitting me from the side cause a bit of collateral damage on the toilet bowl. I had to backtrack a bit to the closet to pick up some TP to remove evidence of my mistake. Zipping and unzipping went as planned. My boxers were orientated correctly. An almost flawless performance if it were not for Rusty.”

“Hey my flight was delayed for over two hours Friday night. Add to that the fact that I was flying out late to begin with and I was flying into Huntsville so she had to drive all the way down there to pick me up... long night.”

“Oh yeah, the flight was less than 100 bucks, so about $170 cheaper than flying into Nashville. Figure 25 bucks for gas (probably less than that for two round trips) and 6 to 7 hours driving, but we're together for half that so call it 3 extra hours not together at $20 an hour (can you really put a price on the time you spend together?) that would be $85 opportunity cost vs. $170 to fly into Nashville. Even with the delay it comes out to 125 vs. 170.

“Actually I wasn't even planning on being there last weekend, somebody mentioned on the Walls of Jericho thread that it had been cheaper for them to fly out of Huntsville once (this was Wednesday night), I hadn't thought of that so I immediately went to the web site to check the fares and they were super cheap, I booked the flight less than an hour before the fares went up.
