Today is election day. Thank goodness there will be an end to the incessant political advertisements. No matter who you intend to vote for, exercise your right and get out there and vote. In my humble opinion, if you don't vote, you have no right to complain about what the government is doing.

Now...go vote!

I guess everyone also has the right to not vote. Just don't let us hear you complaining about decisions your politicians made.

I arrived at my precinct at 7:02AM, 2 minutes after the polls opened. I have NEVER waited in a line at my precinct. I had to wait 45 minutes today...it was crazy!! But, its great to see a high turnout.

Next time, I'll be doing an absentee ballot. No waiting necessary.

Smilley, I hate to break it to you but there will be no next time if the republicans win. The'll take over the country and take away our right to vote so they never feel threatened again.

ok, nm. That wont really happen...just talking like a sausage.

Spirit, if you're not even registered, you don't have much room to talk. There's no reason anyone shouldn't be registered to vote somewhere.

I voted!

I had to wait in line for about half an hour - not too bad, BUT in 18 years as a voter, I've NEVER had to wait before.

Heard on the news that in FL, 30% of registered voters voted early - so maybe this is a good sign for turnout.

It's disgusted me in the past to hear that we had less than 50% voter turnout.

Got my Kerry/Edwards shirt on and am heading out as soon as the morning crowd dwindles.

Was gonna run up to the polls in my Run Against Bush running shirt. But, it's raining, my knee still hurts and I'm sick. I couldn't get a break today.

RA, in one particular election here, I was one of 91 people in our area who voted. Out of thousands, it was me and a few others. How pathetic is that?

well I went and voted today, unfortuantely my candidate wasn't on the ballot. The line to get a write in ballot was twice as long as the line I stood in to get.

since I couldn't get the write in ballot I voted for no one for President since I think both are scumbags. If I had gotten the ballot I would have written in NONE OF THE ABOVE

"Got my Kerry/Edwards shirt on and am heading out as soon as the morning crowd dwindles....."

T - you might want to bring a different shirt. They will kick you outta the line if you have anything like that on in line. That happened to me and the "Perot-Mobile". I shpowed up to the polls, with the signs in every window and the Star Spangled Banner blasting. Got outta my car, went inside to vote. The yshow me the door and told me that I couldn't get back in until I got rid of my Perot buttons on my jacket. Seeing the high trunout rate, I wanted to save ya some time.

PS - How was the rally and feel better soon!

I was the first to vote in my town this morning. A line formed behind me quickly at 6 AM. All I had to do was hit one button, then the red one to register my choices.

I was done in 30 seconds.

There is a separate ballot if you write someone in? In MI, you just write them in on the ballot you got. Ewker, tell Tennessee to get with the times!

Smiley, In Tenn. we have voting machines, you push the button to vote. Do you guys still use paper?? Who needs to get with the times.

I do wish they would add None of the Above to the ballot.

We only use paper for write in ballots.

OMG OMG !!!!
Renquest has a very fatal type of Cancer and could possibly die in the next month !!! If the margin of a Kerry win is close, Bush could still appoint a SCJ in Renquest's place. So GET OUT AND VOTE !!! If we win with enough of a Margin then Kerry would appoint, DON'T ALLOW BUSH A RECESSED DECISION !!!!

tara--
like everyone else said-- they probably won't let you get within a certain distance from the precinct if you have any political info on you in any visible manner... :-(

you might want to bring a jacket or another shirt to wear over your Kerry shirt so that you can get right into the polls.

I was going to go in the morning, but have decided to wait until after work to go. (I'm sure we'll be in line for a long time!)

I saw people walking out after voting with Kerry or Bush pins on the shirts/jackets.

as long as your not trying to hand out literature within 100' of the voting place I don't think it matters what you wear.

My wife and I went around 8 am. We had trouble finding parking. I've never seen anything like it. The lines for our precinct were reasonable but a more populated precinct had A LOT of people in line. I told a poll worker about the parking situation and she said it had been hectic since 6 am. It was all very orderly and well run. There were plenty of machines available. Thanks to my local poll workers and everyone across the country working to empower the people.
