I was fortunate enough to hang out with a pastor from a Lutheran Church for about an hour today. He was passing out info. in opposition to banning gay marraige, and much to my surprise, a big time democrat. He mentioned that many religions were pro-Kerry. Is this true, or was this guy wearing a left over Halloween costume?

That's not really uncommon. I voted against Issue 1 banning gay marraige. But I'm neither Luthern nor christian.

Yes, it's true. This is why we've been trying to tell you that there are moderate and liberal Christians. The average guy in the street is nothing like the guy you see screaming and thumping a bible on a street corner or the guy you see on tv or abortion clinic protester. If you are the least bit curious about how two seemingly opposite things might not be opposite then wait a couple of weeks to get over the emotion of your last 2 weeks and last 2 days and just go talk to the guy.

I've said here before that the first time I saw a bumper sticker that said, "Jesus was a liberal," that it freaked me out. On further review, the guy spread the message of love and help and care for the downtrodden and oppressed. See any simularity?

Did you see the date change on Walls? I realize this takes it further from when you're going to be in the South, but it also straddles your meeeting a bit better.

BB - the folks you see on TV are nutjobs. These are not the type of folks you bump into day to day, or at least I don't. The guy you met is probably a good example.

Interesting reviews on that book V. Have you read it?
