Do you have any concept of how nice life can be MarkO if you lay off the vinegar ??” 9:26:51 AM 11/05/04 “manuka, why would you ask a question like that? Life is nice. Perhaps you miss-read my enthusiasm for political issues for having a rotten life. That's what Nigal, for one, suggests repeatedly. It's what the right-wing radio liars spout.....no surprise hearing that from that sweetheart. I've been telling liberal-bashers to kiss my ass for many years. I don't believe in turning the other cheek. When shoved, I will at least try to return the favor. last edited: 11/05/04 9:39:21 AM” 9:37:44 AM 11/05/04 “I will let the ignorance of that statement speak for itself, Manuka. Frankly, I gave you a hell of a lot more credit for intelligence than you obviously deserve. C'est la vie...” 9:44:54 AM 11/05/04 “And it typifies the arrogance exhibited by you and "macho man" GWB: I give you these tidbits... "I earned political capital and now I intend to spend it". This comes on the heels of the "compassionate conservative's" speech about unity and trying to win over those who voted against him.. Also, "I'll reach out to everyone who shares our goals." Back to, 'my way or the highway', eh? He's as full of sh_t as you are!” 9:50:24 AM 11/05/04 “It was not a statement Tree, it was a question. You need to loosen up, let go some of the anger. I see you are already learning Quebecois.” 9:51:49 AM 11/05/04 “Ok, I'm done speaking to the wall. Let's hear some more bravado. Let's make sure we never forget the elction and make sure that those that voted against him never forget it either. Let's drill this sh_t into the ground.” 9:52:58 AM 11/05/04 “Hey, YOU set the tone for this. I could have ignored you, but I chose to answer you. Every time I go for the keyboard, someone tells me I am near histrionics. Screw that. I said what I did. I'm droppingit. You can carry on alone. Your original statement was still ingorant, no matter how you sugar coat it or try to set me up for reaction...” 9:55:17 AM 11/05/04 “337000 new jobs last month... Looks like we made the right choice.” Bison 9:09:08 AM 11/05/04 ignore this user Bison, you sure that's not the ones being called back for jobs that they got laid off from.Or got tired of being unemployed and took a job at McDonalds...oh wait they can't work at McDonalds they don't speak Spanish” 9:57:01 AM 11/05/04 “Whereas I did not vote for W and was quite disappointed by his re-election I'm not going to subscribe to these predictions of doom and gloom....the sky isn't falling. The National Forests will NOT disappear as stated here earlier.....that's nonsense. It would never pass the opposition. Even the most conservative TTers wouldn't stand for that. Exhale...relax. ANWR and drilling? Maybe, maybe not. I've long been opposed to this but have seen over the years that very possibly the oil can be safely extracted by modern drilling techniques. Some, not all the opposition to this is hysterical hyperbole. Roe vs Wade being repealed? I don't think so, but that's just my opinion. I base it on the hunch that politicians and their parties want to stay in power. Bush is a politician. I think he will play the evangelicals on this. He's used this issue to get elected but won't follow through, slyly blaming it on the liberals somehow. A majority of Republicans and Independents are pro-choice and repealing Roe v Wade would be political suicide. Draft? Again....hysteria. Dems are the ones pushing for it right now. This NY argument here is interesting. Is NY relevant or not as stated by Manuka? Of course it's relevant. NY is one of those states that gives more $ to the feds than it gets and actually helps support the rural areas. It's a center of national and international trade, culture, etc. The NY Times is probably the best paper bar none. I read the NY Times every day and I love it. The writing is great and the coverage of topics is broad. I have found myself quoting it in political conversations, use it in teaching, etc. However, I've realized that many people don't give a $hit what the NY Times or NY has to say about issues. Maybe they should but it just doesn't matter. This doesn't mean that people are stupid, ignorant, gap-toothed morons in the red states. Whereas NY is important, it isn't all important. It's just another place.” 10:51:26 AM 11/05/04 “But Jo, Bush's record shows these things are not done openly - Rove has the political sense to avoid this. It's done by chipping away, gradually eroding environmental protection. On Roe vs Wade. It won't be an all-oput repeal, but a gradual tighening of restrictions. Nothing will appear so dramatic. These little steps will just be spun into appearing good news, but when you put them togather people would not accept them. It's not the end of the world (hopefully) but it's defeinately a step in the wrong direction.” 10:57:25 AM 11/05/04 “JO, Manuka was just trying to bait me into a rant. He said nothing about NY's relevance except that Bush shouldn't fund them one penny because they didn't vote for him. He even said, "a shot for Treebeard", preceeding his "point". I guess, by that resoning, California, Michigan, Wisconsin, New Jersey, etc., etc, should not get any funding either because they didn't give him any electoral votes. The argument becomes obviously ludicrous, if you follow the trail he blazed here...” 11:08:09 AM 11/05/04 “Stop being reasonable JO your pissing off your own side :), anyway this stuff is classified fuego for a reason.” 11:15:04 AM 11/05/04 “JO, you did address the question of why NYC should be funded with logic and reasoning. Tree has objected to the amount of funding applied back to NY being much less than it should be. I think there are many borders/gates that need tightening up and money to make NYC safer could well be spent tightening the Canadian or Mexican border, or controlling chemicals produced in any state. The coastal states are essential for commerce and trade, the central states produce the raw materials and both have varying manufacturing roles in creating finished products from the materials. The whole is much greater that the parts. Some here are playing the -if I dont win I will take my ball and go home- game, instead of a more rational - where are my priorities? such that can I give up some of my lower priorities and gain support for my major priorities (aka politics). Because more important than the President, the losses in the House and Senate show that the Democrats are not on the same page as the majority. A hissy fit will not help attract support for the future. And no, I did not try, I did bait Tree, eventually he will either take everything I say with a grain of salt and get a laugh, or have a massive stroke. Perhaps in some small way I am helping him blow off steam a little at a time :-))” 11:36:38 AM 11/05/04 “JO, you did address the question of why NYC should be funded with logic and reasoning. Funny that I used the same argument about how much we put into the federal gov't and how much we get back and the reaction when JO says it is treated as logical. Okay, whatever... Oh, and you baited me. Feel better, manuka? It seems everytime I touch the keyboard, I am accused of hysteria. Mutt has rubbed off on you too much, my friend...” 11:43:21 AM 11/05/04 “On NYC Federal funding we are talking past each other Tree. I do NOT agree with spending money where it is raised. Money needs to be spent where it is needed. Where I work we have a saying "fraud migrates to the weakest point". Look at the impregnable French Maginot line of fortresses in WWII. NY harbor is not safe if the terrorists deliver the container to Elizabeth NJ and just drive it through the tunnel, or drive it up from Mexico, or down from Canada. Where is the weakest link ? how can it be strengthened? where is the next weakest link. BTW I think we should be spending a lot LESS money in Govt. Probably one of the weakest links at the moment is the lack of Arab language speakers. Intelligence gathering is of little use if there are insufficient resources to examine the data. Peace, enjoy the weekend” 12:05:11 PM 11/05/04 “There is validity to that. However, how much can you squeeze the same source? That's all I am trying to say. A little balance, perhaps? Enjoy yours too....” 12:07:40 PM 11/05/04 “ok, Now in the next four years I'm hoping to gather about 1/2 million New York Democrats and move them to Ohio. Treebeard????? Mapleleaf????” 12:52:31 PM 11/05/04 “I have to live out there????? They'll eat me alive!” 12:59:14 PM 11/05/04 “But Y2, if they live anywhere except cuyahoga county they will be living in a more rural, Republican area and gradually succumb to the Stockholm syndrome, ... and vote for their captors in the next election. <:-))” 1:05:14 PM 11/05/04 1:48:52 PM 11/05/04 “one more year to go!” 4:08:40 PM 1/08/08 “and then we get a whole new crop of scumbag politicians to ridicule.....” 4:36:32 PM 1/08/08 “No one could possibly be as bad as The Dubya Regime.” 5:55:39 PM 1/08/08 “Yeah, but so much damage has been done in 7 years that it may take a lot for the world not to get a lot worse over the next 9 years. last edited: 1/08/08 6:41:25 PM” 6:41:15 PM 1/08/08 ““Yeah, but so much damage has been done in 7 years that it may take a lot for the world not to get a lot worse over the next 9 years.” Heeeeeeere we go they're startin' already!” 6:52:14 PM 1/08/08 “Whoever they are they'll be worsererer that than Cheney Annex. Well , Ron Paul ain't gona beat Rooty and Huckelberry, but at least he's kickin' Fred outa bed.” 7:13:59 PM 1/08/08 “Fred is dead, right?” 7:23:32 PM 1/08/08 “You Hillary! boys will be happy. She won N.H.” 7:39:50 PM 1/08/08 “ ”8:37:45 PM 1/08/08 “Fred isn't dead --- he just smells funny. I need to get one of those countdown clocks.” 9:32:37 PM 1/08/08 “Gotta love peds preemptive excuses. The socialist media is what is destroying the country.” 1:19:11 AM 1/09/08 “Nice conspiracy theory, Sarge.” 5:11:25 AM 1/09/08 “Nice face.” 5:12:25 AM 1/09/08 “LOL...this is a hoot. listening to libbies who now realize their only two attempts at Political Leadership in the past 30 years were an incompetent navy officer who was a failure at President and a draft dodger who will be remembered for "I promise you I did not have sex with that woman". Now they figure if they can kill the legacy of the others.... Yep the Libbie SHARED pain, kinda like limiting the scoring in a game so the losers don't FEEL so bad. NOt that they have to improve their game, but we will drag the rest of them down to the loser level.” 5:36:31 AM 1/09/08 “Nice re-write of reality, Pudgie.” 7:59:04 AM 1/09/08 “But, the fact is , had the libbies have had control, things would be really no different than they are. You can draw all the contrast you want , but they are not real. Power over the enslaved is the purpose of both sides of the our world government.” 8:11:26 AM 1/09/08 “All I can say is, sooooo long wing nuts, it's been good to know ya, sooooo long wing nuts, it's been good to know ya...” 8:25:16 AM 1/09/08 “The socialist media is what is destroying the country.” Sarge 1:19:11 AM 1/09/08 Nope - people like you are destroying the country Sargiepoo. People have had enbough of the politics of self.” 8:35:03 AM 1/09/08 “Yet another example of y2 making it about me, yet claiming HE'S the civil one. LOL!” 8:40:02 AM 1/09/08 “Socialism is that last century monster that lived on the edge of town and snuck in each night to steal his twinkies.” 8:45:33 AM 1/09/08 “I don't claim to be civil. I think you're a narrow-minded, self-centered narcissist - and that these are your better qualities. Where have I ever given you any indication that I think you deserve any respect or civility? last edited: 1/09/08 8:47:08 AM” 8:46:16 AM 1/09/08 “LOL...since 1976 I have been hearing libbies tell us THIS NEXT ELECTION IS THE DEATH OF REPUBLICANS!!!! LOL..yeah...keep hearing it. Ofcourse I think the problem is that the libbies get in a tizzy then go out and set up some sort of memorial to their loss...republicans go DO something to change things.” 1:46:44 PM 1/09/08 “Somebody is obsessed with Treebeard's dick.” 1:49:20 PM 1/09/08 y2 “Nope - people like you are destroying the country Sargiepoo. People have had enbough of the politics of self. An implication here is that either (a) you are not destroying the civilization as I supposedly am, or else you wouldn't say such a thing, therefore you're more civil, or (b) you're a hypocrite. Which was it?” 1:53:45 PM 1/09/08 “I KNOW! I KNOW! (b)” 1:55:31 PM 1/09/08 “The thread title does need updating ---- Actually, just over a year left in this cycle.” 1:56:19 PM 1/09/08 “Then we'll have non-scumbag politics?” 1:57:26 PM 1/09/08 “LOL - Y2, you have an uncanny ability to get made the fool of in practically every thread you post in.” 2:00:27 PM 1/09/08 “Somebody is obsessed with Treebeard's dick.” MarkO 1:49:20 PM 1/09/08 Someone should start a thread with this homo's comments. CLASSIC MARKO HOMO THREAD” 2:02:00 PM 1/09/08 “Tight Democrat Primary Sparks Fraud Allegations (2008-01-08) — In the wake of the unexpected outcome of the New Hampshire Democrat primary Tuesday, sources at the Democrat National Committee (DNC) said they’re still trying to figure out whom to sue amid a flurry of allegations of fraud, malfunctioning electronic voting machines and voter intimidation. “It’s a forgone conclusion that if the race outcome defies the pollster predictions, there must have been corruption,” said an unnamed DNC source. “Just because it’s an intra-party contest, doesn’t mean we’ll subject the results to less scrutiny.” The DNC source added that “Americans need to have faith in the electoral process, but the New Hampshire Democrat primary has the smell of Bush-Gore 2000 all over it. We’re determined to follow the facts where they lead.”” 2:03:45 PM 1/09/08
