“I resurrected that from USF dating back to when I went to school there. I wasn't on WUSF yet at the time of its heyday, but some of the future commercial DJs that made it in the Tampa Bay area came from there. Brock Whaley, Norm Hale, Bill Mims, Tedd Webb, Tim Ruskell, etc. I went on the air as a news intern and Jazz announcer shortly following the UR. I was part of the team who got rock music back on the air there after the hiatus following the UR's demise. It became simply, Freeform Radio. Anyhow, I always liked the name and decided that it would be appropriate for what i am attempting to do on HGRNJ currently...

Yeah, I like eclectic formats like this. You get a great variety. I also try to not play what you may hear on the average classic rock station. If I do a play from one of the superstar bands, I try to go for deeper cuts and not the same played out stuff...”
