Special Extended Program Tomorrow!!
Instead of the usual 3 to 6 PM, Saturday, we will take the Underground railroad out of the station at 2 PM this week! Tomorrow's feature artist: Neil Young...

We'll cover Neil's solo stuff, as well as the CSN&Y days and the Buffalo Springfield. Also, have a few "unreleased" surprises to throw in there!

Hope to hear from some of you...

What say we do up some Clashfor tomorrow's Underground Feature Artist, eh?

London Calling??

Just don't sing it in a British cab! You may just achieve terrorist status!
Treebeard

the clash I know I have some great memories of their concerts but I killed so many darn brain cells back than

Let me help you kill a few more, my friend!!!

lol :)

Seriously, that was a pretty legendary band, IMO. Some very innovative music came out of that era and them, in particular...

(others: Police, E. Costello, Talking Heads, Ramones, Pretenders, etc.)
Treebeard
8:39:07 PM
4/14/06

sounds like a cd I had a friend burn for me
spalpeen
8:58:59 PM
4/14/06

B-52's, too. Thorogood came out of that era, also. But, he was more straight ahead rock & roll (and one of the most fun artists to see live).

I liked the British "new wave/reggae flavored" stuff. The Clash and Police were good for that...
Treebeard

never cared for George too much but the police were hot. Ever see the movie Brimstone and Treacle ?

when I was in Germany, '76-'78, I went to a three day concert in a little town: Aerosmith, Iron Butterfly, Country Joe McDonald, Ted Nugent, and a few others I don't remember cause I was a bit outa sorts, lol. I lost some cells on that one too.

Ha! Sounds like a "cerebral" experience, Chappy. lol. Interesting mix of bands there, though...

Spal, it's all subjective, but George blew me away every time I've seen him. The guy DOES know how to rock and roll!
Treebeard

no problem, just never did it for me

The Police did some incredible stuff in their early days. I saw them at the St. Petersburg Bayfront Center for their Zenyatta Mondata tour. I love when a three man band can tear it up like they did...
