Hey Guys! Sorry about not leaving a heads-up. The railroad did not roll today. This was our big, big, self-produced Wine fest. It was a day long music fest complete with wine tasting, grape stomping, hay rides, activities for kids, etc. etc. We chose not to air it due to the possibility we would not get some of the locals to turn out when they can tune in at home. We did pretty good for a first time. Drew about 600 people. Had 8 bands, including performances by Todd Sheaffer of Railroad Earth and a fired up John Ginty Band. Great day! Will be back next week...

Today is Ratstock VIII in Pleasant Mount, Pa. The Railroad will run, but a short track this afternoon. I need time to get to the show. I will be recording it digitally for future broadcast on HGRNJ. No real feature artist for today. Will feature some of the best of the Good Rats.

Stiff competition there, Pathie! But, hey! I'll be in my usual place: the bar car!

Right, I don't know why I return here. Just now I'm listening to some of my CD's, "You Ain't Talking To Me," Charlie Poole and the Roots of Country Music. And I can always link to Radio Swiss Classic. It is much better than NY's WQXR. Guess I mainly check to see if you arrive at work on time!

LOL.

Now I was late. Sorry. Found that I was out of beer. So I hurried to the store. I'm still out of beer, but I sure found a lot of sweets in the bakery department. I will be munching! Keep that rhythm going.

Edit: Early trains seldom cause one to be late.

LOL.

BTW, Did I tell you that I'm glad you're here! Thanks for your great programs.

Say, that "John Henry" song reminded me of some of my working days. I could swing a strong sledge hammer. Once I broke up a lot of 8' diameter, heavy, cast-iron pipeline.

But the best was when I buried a "Deadman." I dug a hole over 8'long x 8'deep and about 4' wide. Then I dug a slit from the bottom middle through one side sloping about 45 degrees to the surface about 8 to 10' away. Then we took a large, railroad tie, which had a long cable attached to its' center. We dropped it in the hole with the cable running up the slot. Then I filled the hole with the dirt that had been removed. The cable was attached about 100'up as a support line to the framework for a construction elevator. It was securely anchored on that side by the "deadman" in the ground. (We were building 120' high, grain-storage elevators.)

John Henry had nothing on me. I was part of the working class!

Anyone like the old B-52's? Well, they are our feature artist on tomorrow's Underground Railroad. We'll also be rolling out a new intro for the show. Tune in from three to six PM

www.homegrownradionj.com

Also, my friend, John Ginty, will be appearing on Conan O'Brien tonight with Citizen Cope. I believe Comedy Central repeats the show tomorrow sometime...

Huh! I indicated to you that you might arrive on time, if you started earlier. Catch the early train, bro.

It appears that you have no concern for your supporters. If you're late again, I'm going to pull the plug on you.

LOL.

Please don't confuse the folks.

Chicago is a suburb of Hegwisch,
an area with many beautiful girls.

NW Indiana is a suburb of Calumet City, where Sally Rand has appeared in the flesh(behind the fans)?
