Hey Pete! How are ya, Buddy? Sorry I missed you before. Hope all is well with you.

We need to do one of those Harriman things soon. I don't think our car is up for much longer rides. Matter of fact, I think it will be a wise policy to keep it within a hundred miles of home (That's how far AAA will tow me without charging me). :)

Yeah, we're trying to get on our feet again financially. Otherwise, it would be a great time to buy a car. They're giving these freakin' things away!

Cannot blame you, Mike. I'm hoping that this form of radio becomes more portable, so people can take it with them..With all the technology that's out there, it's feasible. I guess it needs to be a relatively cheap conversion and made appealing enough to compete with satellite.

Mike, it is something that is available (podcasting), but I need to look into that as I do not totally have a grasp of what I need to do to get something like that going...

Saturday, June 28th: the Underground Railroad will depart from it's usual musical feature artist and devote it to the loss of a great comedian and insightful commentator, George Carlin.

Once I got on a roll (during the first hour), I was happy with it.

So, Pathie, I was wondering about you. I don't post much on the site anymore. But, I try to keep up with old buds, and I haven't seen you around of late. Real glad to hear from you. Hope all is well. You are living in the Pacific NW now, right?

BTW, I am broadcasting out of my basement studio about 50% of the time now. It's getting pretty expensive to get to this place from NYC (about 30 beans with gas and tolls). So, the manager let me operate from home. I grab the server when needed, punch in some codes and broadcast through my daughter's laptop. Pretty simple, actually.

from Stu
Hi Folks!

Just a note to announce that tomorrow (Thursday the 30th) I will be presenting a very special 4 hour installment of the Underground Railroad, celebrating not only the night before All Hallows Eve, but the 70th annversary of the airing of Orson Welles masterful presentation of, "The War Of The Worlds (undoubtedly the greatest hoax in history). For those of you not familiar with the UR, it is regularly broadcast over www.homegrownradionj.org on Saturdays, from 2 to 6. Tomorrow, we will take over the servers at 5 PM and run until 9. The show will include all aspects of the Halloween experience, including some great rare recordings and other surprises. Please join me from 5 to 9 PM for a truly fun radio event. Thanks!
