well I had the best birthday anyone could ever want.
in the morning twignut and myself went to the rehab center and hung out with all the critters.
never held a snake before so holding the Boa was pretty darn scary. I love the pics of Samantha holding the snake. funny faces!
getting to go into the cages and just sitting there and having the raccoons crawl on me was something I will never ever forget!
sorry there are so many pics, but hope you enjoy them.

then going to the station and watching treebeard doing what he loves the most, was the best way to end a great day

sorry there are only three pics, my battiers died.

Seeing snakes and raccoons in rehab is not that uncommon. Part of the withdrawal cycle.

I use to see cockroaches crawling under my skin.....

The iguana was really cool. Actually, that little fat coon was pretty cute too.

I guess you just didn't buy her enough kayaks tree. Three hundred and twenty-eight is not all that many (for the Imelda Marcos of kayaks).

the sad thing was, someone rescued a rabbit, only to have it give birth to 8 babies.
7 of them died and they put them in the freezer to feed the snake. at first it bothered me but it's part of nature

You gotta learn to deal with that fact of life, Maple. Or else, you will be spending your days with a broken heart that never heals...

Do they use the same freezer snakes use in the wilderness?

On the one hand, I would expect them to so the snake feels at home. On the other hand, snake freezers are notoriously inefficient and I would hope the center would use something better.

I'm asking about the freezer, was it a snake freezer or a regular human freezer?

The gator's a cute little thing, but that poor turtle's water really needs to be changed. Yuck.

the turtles were in the same tank as the gator, the flash on my camera made the color of the water wild looking.
