Weather Question - Adirondacks

“I'm going to the Adirondacks - staying at 4peaks to be exact - next weekend. I've never been to the area. Does anyone know what the weather might be like? Not a regular hiker, I'm having trouble figuring out what would be smart to pack.

City girl are you going to be camping out over night or just dayhiking? Check the weather for Keene and then subtract about 5* for every thousand feet that you are going up.”

“Where in the Adirondacks are you going? It's a big place (6 million acres) and weather conditions widely vary from place to place.

With that said, I would expect winter like conditions. If you're heading to the high peaks, snowshoes and crampons might be needed. If you don't own them you could rent some from EMS or The Mountaineer http://www.mountaineer.com/.
