Hey Fiddle,

Were you asking me where I've been in a "Good to see you back my right wingnut friend" kind of way?

Anyway, yes, in some situations, it is okay to taser someone for not standing up. If you try to get a guy to stand up and leave like the library officials asked him to, followed by library security guards, followed by campus police, and he decides to act like a prick the whole time(which he did), it's much more likely that he would get injured by the police yanking on him and trying to get him to stand up. With the Taser, there is no injury, the kid sees what an #&%!$ he's making out of himself, and complies with the lawful request of the peace officers.

By the way Violin, what would be your solution to the problem? Honestly--I'm not baiting you, just want to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Yeah actually.

The old-fashioned way - pick him up bodily and accidentally bang his head on every doorway out of there.

When I was in school, many of the male teachers had custom "made from the woodshop" paddles.

If you got to far out ot line you knew what was coming your way.

Today, you can't even touch a kid, for discipline without having to worry about a
lawsuit?

It called cause and effect, cause trouble and here come the effect. WHACK!!!!

While I'm sure many would like to do that, it probably wouldn't reflect favorably on the campus cops who were being filmed.

Dealing with college kids is a pain in the ass. Suddenly when the police show up every one of the students is a civil rights attorney.

This is going to sound mean, but that was just funny. If the kid would have just stood up he would have saved himself a lot of pain and screaming like a little girl. It is not that hard to stand up for the cops, right?

Duren hasn't had the smoothest career in law enforcement. He came to Westwood after being fired from the infamous Long Beach PD. A few years after being hired by UCLA he was accused of using his nightstick to choke a fratboy and the university asked the UCPD to fire Duren, but he was only given a three month suspension.

In late 2003 Duren shot a homeless man, Willie Davis Frazier, Jr., in a Kerckhoff Hall bathroom. Frazier, who attempted at first to shun lawyers and represent himself, was imbalanced enough to spend time in mental institution as the court tried to figure out if he was fit to stand trial.

WESTERVILLE, Ohio (AP) -- A high school lunch period was disrupted Monday by a greased, naked student who ran around screaming and flailing his arms until police twice used a stun gun on him, authorities said.

Taylor Killian, 18, had rubbed his body with grapeseed oil to keep from being caught, and got up after the first time he was shocked to continue running toward a group of frightened students huddled in a corner at Westerville North High School, Lt. Jeff Gaylor said.

"That prank went a little farther than he intended, I guess," Gaylor said.

Officer Doug Staysniak was monitoring the lunch period when Killian, with long hair and a full beard, ran in the room toward students, who screamed and ran away. The officer is normally assigned to a middle school and did not recognize Killian as a student, Gaylor said.

Police said that an administrator ordered Killian to stop, but that the student made a sexual gesture and kept running.

Killian is in jail and charged with inducing panic, public indecency, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. A message seeking comment was left at Killian's home.

School officials reported that Killian was a good student, Gaylor said. There was no indication of substance abuse or a medical problem.

PS, you'd have enjoyed our Chappelle rememberances around the fire at RRG.

Beards are really scary, too.

Two reasons to NOT mess with cops:

1. They can kill you

2. They can get away with it

didnt realize this happened at your high school

gimme a break. when i was in 9th grade, this would have been shocking, then hilarious, but in no way traumatizing, and todays 9th graders are even less "children" than when i was a 9th grader

Um he had a chance Marky mark....his chance came when he took off his clothes, and smeared the oil on himself. He could have made the decision NOT to do it.

Heck we had a kid (14 running from the cops in a public housing neighborhood) he came around a corner and got CLOTHESLINED by a bystander......whooptiedoo. Its called responsibility...I say put him OILED and NAKED into a cell with some boys for a party....he will heal..maybe.
