I moved to Tahoe area!

The IMMEDIATE question is snow-shoeing over the Turkey Holiday season...

I'm going SOMEWHERE, not sure where yet, maybe a one-day trip, but maybe Saturday- Sunday backpack & camp somewhere overnight backpack trip.

I can go out Rte 50 toward South end of Tahoe, or, out I80 toward Truckee, lot's of options either way.

That is so great you moved to be closer to the mountains! Welcome to Lake Tahoe!
I love Truckee, it is a beautiful town..with a lot of charm.
We live on the South shore in Meyers...just below Echo summit. We love living here, we are a short walk from Desolation, and so many other great hiking areas, Carson Pass area is beautiful too. It would be neat to hike with you this summer around here. I do day hike with a nice group every Tuesday..and then usually another day of the week I go with two girlfriends on a day hike..and of course my favorite is to backpack.

How cold was it yesterday morning on Monday there? I can just imagine..as it gets colder in Truckee then it does here. It was MINUS 3 here Monday morning, and we had a frozen water pipe, it thawed out at about 2:30..so we kept the faucet running last night just a bit.
This morning it is 6 degrees, not below 0..but still cold.
Nice to hear you are in Truckee, you are very lucky, and enjoy being here.
