2005: The Year of the Backpack!

“yes, very big plans in deed. I plan to go backpacking out west in 2005 and conquer the northest, particularly the Adirondacks. My outwest trip will be to Idaho to climb Borah Peak.”

“I forsee Dayhiking/Backpacking in the following places this summer:

Bryce Canyon, Sequoia/Kings Canyon, Yosemite, Crater Lake, Mt. Rainier, North Cascades, Glacier, Grand Teton, Wind Rivers, Wind Cave, Colorado.

30 bagnights in 2 months, who thinks they can top that?”

“Don't know what 2005 will hold for me. I only have one trip planned, but I am sure I will get out a few other weekends.

I am now working on my child's bedroom. Child is not due until first week of March but I have a lot of work ahead of me.

We picked out cartoon jungle animals style bedding for him/her. To go along with that, I am getting some help from my sister-in-law on the decorating of the room. The room is going to look like a forest. The Appalachian Trail will be cutting through part of the room as well.

New Years - Death Valley
January 22-23 - Snowshoing at Sequoia NP
March/April - Yosemite and Sequoia/KC for a week, Jawbone Canyon and Henry Coe for the wildflowers
late May - going to be the Maid of Honor in my best friend's wedding in Boston
June - Kibbie Lake in Yosemite and Domelands in Sequoia NF
July - High Sierra Trail
August - eh, I'll probably take a break, lol
September - Paria Canyon
Oct-Dec - Big Basin State Park, Big Sur, ??

“As a harbinger of my 2005, I will be spending this upcoming weekend at a cabin in a Wisconsin woods with my family and booze and snowshoes and skis. That's good I think

As for trips, my most ambitious trip will be a month or so of exploring (via vehicle and backpacking) Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, and/or Montana with Jon while we search for property. Yeah, baby!”
