My wifes 3 brothers all went down to Florida to help in the cleanup efforts after the hurricanes. They will all be home today and we haven't seen them in months. It'll be good to see them cause they're a bunch of "cut ups" and "wise a$$'s". LOL

A moment of silence please on Turkey Memorial Day...and now, back to the splendor and pageantry. Hope everyone enjoys their favorite parts of the day, whether it be the parades, the drumsticks, the stuffing, the pie, or the Lions trying to pull off a win (don't you miss the old days when it was a mud bowl?).

treebait, it really helped in the old days of Briggs (later Tiger) Stadium when the visiting team would have to endure icy rain or snow. It was Detroit's version of Green Bay's "Ice Bowl." Of course, in those days, the visitor might be GB, so no real advantage gained. Football mayhem on a sloppy turf field is something to be cherished when you are sitting in your warm, comfy living room, bloated with a humongous dinner.

Not to mention that now the Lions have a Yooper coach, so there is some quaint sentimental value to the proceedings, win or lose, lol.

That's how football is supposed to be played! I don't like all this indoor arena crap!

One thing that's worse than playing indoors Pekka, is playing outdoors in the August Florida sunshine.

One more hour until the turkey is done, getting ready to do the side dishes. My dog keeps circling the kitchen. Smelling the turkey is driving her crazy. She even ate a raw chestnut that fell to the floor.

I'm watching channel 503 IFC channel. There is a "Dinner at 5" marathon. A table of actors/producers eating and telling funny acting stories.

Also, on 501 channel is an Abbott and Costello marathon.
