This pic is for you hyway =)

It holds a place of Honor under my 2nd son's porcelain feather and my very first ever ornament that I bought way back in 1980 when I was in the Air Force, (the curleyQ wood shaving ornament with the little boy sitting in it).

Is that all he sent you was one dollar?

I suppose it's the thought that counts.

Nice!

lol, marko.

I rec'vd an awesome sunglass-wearing, hiking santa from Chappy.

He also sent a Cypress Knee which we loved and are displaying in a very prominent place in our home.

MY HUSBAND AND I LOVE IT! And my kids think it's "THE BOMB!" It's my very first trail talk ornament ever and it comes from a very special guy, it means a LOT to me.

I took 11 pictures and did a lot of editing to get the ornament to show up that beautifully, the flash kept bouncing too much light on it. I also wanted the Christmas lights to show up just right. I hope I did you proud Hyway!

Hey, did anyone else get pics of their ornaments on their trees? I didn't see too many pics in here and I think everyone should post them if they have them. I want to see what they all look like.

Oh I even had a knot in my left calf this morning. Took me a while to work that one out.

Well WildChild, you have a lovely name, if I had thought of it before you I might have taken it, I often call myself a wildchild, but mostly for my b.c. or "before children" years. something about becoming a mother just grows you up. so how old are you anyway?

Thanks. I'm 39 and the mother of a 6 year old little hiker... so I have to be somewhat mature. The great thing is that everyone thinks I am younger. I do look younger but mostly I have my little guy to thank for that. So how old are your little one(s)?

okay back to Christmas ornaments - so I am too lazy to read all 48 pages - how does the exchange work?
WildChild

everyone sends their name in and email to Sass and Sass matches us up. it doesn't have to be an even number of people, check out page 40 of this thread to see how she does it.

I took a picture but have been too lazy to upload it. Sorry!
I also don't want you all to be jealous of the gorgeous birdies Stikmon made for me. I didn't have the heart to pack them up w/ the xmas stuff. So they're still hanging around in my kitchen.

WildChild, look for the next exchange to start around Valentines day. Tilt's doing a chocolate exchange this year! Right Tilt?!
If he misses it we start the Xmas one in November.

I'll post my photo this week-end...chili, as always, sent a lovely ornament...since I was in the woods last week-end, Christmas decorations don't come down until this week-end...

This was our third year doing the ornament exchange, WildChild...it's a blast! Sass has got it down to an art form....

Mata this reminds me of "swaps" we used to do back when I was a teddy bear artist (talk about an overly cutesy business - ick)... anyway there was a woman, Jan, who sounds a lot like Sass. Jan used to arrange it so that we each sent a swap box out. You knew who you were sending to but had no idea who was sending to you. It was a ton of fun.

and Mata I think you know just how much the Christmas ornament thing means in our family.

I'm changing things next year. I saved who got who from this year and I'm making sure no one gets the same person next year. Also am thinking of sending out individual emails to pairs so it's easier to figure out who's email you need.

Nakid is okay w/ me, I don't care. I just don't want poor Mataharihiker to have Chili again next year (give the rest of us a chance eh?). And I figured it'd be easier to find your persons email if it's included in your email only, not w/ a hundred others.

I recieved a wonderful figurine of my good friend Gandalf from Maple Leaf. I've put it up on my writing desk next to my work shop. It's a permament part of my display.

Thanks so much.

I was mistaken, Sass...I am obviously time challenged as chili did not get my name two years in a row. Plus, we have been doing this for four years, not three as I originally thought...here are the ornaments I have received through the years in order!

From treebait in 2004

from chili in 2005

from Jackstraw in 2006

from chili in 2007

and, I cherish each and every one of them!
