Ridiculous after Thanksgiving sales

“How many of you actually get up at 4 in the morning to stand in line for those stupid day after Thanksgiving day sales....


OK, its my first, but Best Buy has WD hard drives, 160 GB with 8 MB buffer, for $29.00.

“Good luck. My friend got to BB last year at 05:30 and the line was already 150 people long.

I do not like to shop on the best of days so NO WAY will I put up with the rude ill-mannered people today.”

“No thank you. I wouldn't stand in line even if they were giving all items away for free.”

“I agree. Waiting in lines is too upsetting. I've found early Christmas Eve Day to be about the best for easy shopping without crowds. And bargains exist with many mark-downs on the last shopping day before Christmas.”

“I'm with Zac (as usual), I live in the country and I buy things from people that know my name - or order from a catalogue.

I won't even stand in a line in our cafeteria. Life is too short to spend some of it in lines.”

“Gremlin - An even bigger waste of time is traffic lights. I would like to see them replaced by 4-way stop signs. Half my life has been spent waiting at traffic lights.

After the jurricanes in Florida, intersections with the lights out were treated as 4-way stops. Traffic flowed much better. The only tie-ups were intersections with police or guards direction traffic. (They tried to be good guys and wait for cars far away, while holding up all the other traffic. The lines would just build up.)

Because of traffic lights, I can get to local shopping faster on my bicycle.”

“OK, I'm back....got almost everything I wanted, except the New Balance Trail Runners at Big Five.

The secret seems to be to get there about 30 min after they open... no lines at the door and most of the major carnage is over.

I did resort to a little shoving, a couple offensive grunts and a stare down with one customer......

but she backed off when her water broke.

5. Get to store and get in line
6. While staring straight ahead, swaying, arms under coat, start mummbling:

Repeat this over and over until the line no longer exists.”

“See, there was this "fur real" cat and kitten doll that purrs and meows for $20 and I had toyed with getting there early. (I had recently put my 13yo cat "to sleep") Somehow when my alarm went off better judgement took over. I did go once about three years ago when I bought this pc, a TV and DVD player all in one swoop, and it was crazy. I managed to get in and out in one hour, since I had my list in hand and did not get distracted. People were ruthless, and I did see some fights over stock!”

“I went to Wallie World last year because they were practically giving away some toys. The news helicopter over the parking lot should have tipped me off. I probably saved about $100 but the lines to the register stretched nearly to the back of the store and it took me about 2 hours to pay. I'll never do that again.

I went to Office Max this morning to pick up some software and other majorly discounted items but they were sold out of all but one minor item just an hour after they opened. I went online and found most of what I wanted plus I used a $50 online coupon so it was actually cheaper and much easier to shop online.”

“My wife was up at 430AM, picked up the girls by 5 and was AT the store at 530. She's still not home yet...”

“My daughter (16 yrs old) kissed me goodbye at 5:05 this morning to run off with her friends to BB. I got up to see her getting in a van. I had to call at 7:30 to make sure she was still alive. She is still not home yet.....”

“My wife and daughter left out before me this morning at about 5 am. I left at 6 and went hiking to work off some of that turkey I had yesterday!”

I now looked in Google and I'm still confused. I did find "Secure Digital (SD)," palm devices, etc. Without money and a need I have not looked at those devices. Sorry if my ignorance surprised you. Guess I should be reading more.”

They went downstairs and bought it from a different department where the line was 1 person long. Yes, some people have brains and others don't....”
