so, over by the printers, there's this print job that never got picked up and its a powerpoint presentation on Sexual Harrassment. Anyway the title is:

"Respectful Workplace - Sexual Harrasment"

So, me and another guy decided that we're going to be sure to attend the class and learn how to show proper respect whilst harrassing others.

My little rant for the day
So we have a seagull problem here at work. Our building sits on the side of a highway and on the other side of the highway is a massive dump. (If the wind is blowing just right, the place stinks to high heaven.) Behind our building is a large pond for the birds to drink, swim and do whatever birds do all day. There are woods around for nesting. The birds have everything they could possibly need right here at my place of work. How nice for them.

Now, I have nothing against the birds themselves, but I do have something against their crap. The birds feed at the dump and then fly over to our building to crap. The roof of the building is completely white from droppings and the parking lot looks like a massive white polka dot. My car is bombarded on a daily basis. Disgusting pieces and parts of god knows what cover the hood. They seem to like to take a flying dump at my car, always sure to hit my windshield at least once a day. I have, on more than one occasion, been hit in the shoulder with the slime as I was walking from to and from the parking lot. Yes, it’s that bad.

Some people, including moi, have been complaining to the building management about the crap problem. So last week they installed some type of sound device on the roof that is supposed to scare away the birds when the get close. The device sounds like a really loud kid’s laser gun going off in rapid succession over and over again. This is all fine and dandy, except that I work on the top floor and one of the devices was installed on the other side of my wall. So now I get to listen to this stupid alarm go off all day long. It’s really annoying and I might have to strangle someone.

Be careful what you ask for.

Seagull managers fly into the room, crap all over everything, and then leave.

Well, now you've documented it on the Internet so you won't be able to plead temporary mental impairment!

Ordinarily, I would agree. Especially with her because well...she's not all that competent. But when the email is trivial such as "Is so-and-so coming into the office tomorrow?" ...that's when I lose patience. :)

We also have turkey vultures that like to roost on the veranda outside my boss's office. Last time I saw a gaggle of these vultures I told my boss, who is a lawyer, that I never got the memo about the bar association meeting. Good thing he thought it was funny. Then again, I haven't gotten my bonus yet........

My chair had developed a bad squeak.
I got used to it.

Took a day off last week and when I returned my kind coworkers had sprayed it good with Liquid Wrench.

Squeak is gone. ;-)

It's so fitting that this was the first thread when I opened TT today.

I have some concerns with some new business we received so I turned to our sales department for guidance. Instead of guidance all I got was defensiveness and argumentative emails. When will people learn to take emotions out of emails and just read them for the information that is in them.

Sorry, just venting

LOL..we had a supervisor who did that (from another division) he was insulting, demanding etc. I finally showed him an "Org Chart" mentioned he was not in my chain of command and said...'We are coworkers I expect the respect."

Ever have a supervisor who cannot wait to break out the RED PEN OF DEATH on a report?

Some Dilbert books do continue some ideas along those lines, i.e. pranks that can get you fired and/or beat up.

Apparently I annoyed a coworker by expecting him to do his fair share of the work, since he 1) quit and 2) reported my car as abandonned for 30 days in the parking lot. Apparently he hoped it would be immediately towed, but instead merely sent the police around to my house, and nearly gave my girlfriend a heart attack thinking something bad had happened to me.
