My daughter 'phoned to say she'd be coming down with her room-mate (and oldest friend) and I didn't need to drive in to the city to get her.

As most of you know, I live in a tiny one room schoolhouse that I am finally beginning (beginning, mind you) to renovate. It is Rockburn School Number 10 and Rockburn, in case you have forgotten down there is smack in the centre of Paradise (sorry, it's full).

Now, at the centre of the centre of Paradise are the Rockburn Presbyterian church and the Rockburn PUB - yes indeedy. And at the pub at the centre of the centre of Paradise there is a screened terrasse and an unscreened porch.

There are also fine ales on tap, such as Newcastle, Kilkenny, et c., as well as local cider (scrumpy?) and fine Scots and Irish malts.

And, best of all, boys and girls, it's open on Thursday and Friday afternoon.

I'd love to stay and gab, but there's a place I need to get to right about now.

You will have to get the story from her and since she's in LBL on Stompers drinking trip you will just have to wait. This weekend is prolly her 4th TT trip in about as many weeks. She's got the bug you might say.”
