Hello Everyone!

Have any of you hiked down to Deer Creek Falls & Tapeats creek & falls? Which both are in Grand Canyon NP...and the trailhead is on the N. Rim.
Thanks all!

South Rim access is good in winter and the tempuratures are perfect for hiking down below.

At Phanton Ranch the lows were about 40 and at Clear Creek the lowest was 24.

Two years ago I did a six-nighter starting Xmas day, down Kaibab and up Bright Angel trail.

We spent out last night at Indian Gardens.

I only dayhiked as far as the Bright Angel Point Overlook. I think it was the year, maybe 2000-01, that access to the North Rim was open almost all winter, which was quite unusual. Was there in mid-October, as the lodge was closing up for the winter.

hey, consider trails in the Toroweap area, which is way northwest and at least a couple hours by gravel/dirt roads, if you want to lose the crowds.
