I noticed they also had underwater versions for snorkeling/diving. Would be useful instead of a regular home-bound flashlight. No way I would want it on the trail, though. I take my Photons (2 of them) and that's it.

Dirtbagger Delux....
Yeah, but yer neck'd git sore from the balance and weight issues tho.....LMAO....

Did anyone get far enough into the specs to notice that this headlamp has a feature that AUTOMATICALLY dims the light if you face another headlamp or a reflection like a mirror or water?....

The Scuba model is waterproof..Duh....

NO, I'm not a salesman for nor do I own stock in this company....

I KNEW coming in the price, size and weight issues would get me slammed, but I still think this lamp has a lot of merit, if only for nighttime kayaking...(mebbee Frog Giggin' an' setch lak thet thar tew...)

“Yeah, but yer neck'd git sore from the balance and weight issues tho.....LMAO...."

Like, duh! you use half the tape for taping it to your head and the other half to make a duct tape neck brace. LOL!

I've been thinking I need a real, non-led headlamp for kayaking. I was thinking that dual Petzl one would be good. Those things throw a good beam.

i use it on led 90% of the time, but it's nice to be able to blind those folks camping 50 yds away once in awhile

Red Green is just awesome no matter what country ya live in. I laughed my ass off at my brother when I saw his tv antena that had duct tape holding it to his house after a storm. LOL!

Closet Canuck, nya, nya.
BTW, Campmor has the Eureka Mountain Pass 2XT and 4XT on special. It's a great four season tent, especially for the price.

BTW2, up here we call duct tape 'God on a roll'.

seeing the humping donkey video again made me forward it on to all my friends. If I could just remember the other link I used to have book marked. It had so many more clips just as funny as the donkey.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/11/11/army.gum.ap/index.html

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) -- Brushing three times a day is a tough task, especially if you're roughing it in the mountains of Afghanistan or in the Iraqi desert.

So goes the logic behind a recent endeavor by Army and civilian scientists -- combat gum for soldiers too busy to brush.

Snow Peak - Gigapower Titanium Stove Manual

$49 (usually $65)

This is a great price for this stove. Snow Peak won't let the people that sell these discount them (so I am told) so it's rare to find these on sale. This is on closeout so it's last years model, as if that means anything.

This doesn't have the piezo starter on it, but that just adds weight. You can buy the igniter for it for $15 or you can just use matches or a BBQ igniter or something like that.

http://gearx.com/product_info.php?products_id=2698

2.5 oz!

I am a huge fan of the OR Rain Claw Mitt, but it has been discontinued a few years now. I got one of the last pairs before this happened. Anyhoo, I was digging about and found something very close:

http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/Aerostich-Triple-Digit-Rain-Cover-p-16447.html

They would probably need to be adapted for ultralight usage (the sleeve might be too long) but perhaps not. Anyway, if you are looking for the Rain Claw Mitt from OR and are sad at it's demise this might be a good fit for you.

I do not own nor have I purchased these gloves as I have a pair of OR Rain Claw Mitts. So I can't say if these are nice or not. Buy at your own risk but if you do let us know how they work out.
