“oh, and i have used speedlaces as a runner and despised them. i found them very uncomfortable. classic case of too much thought being put into a simple problem that has already been solved.

to be specific... i found that the elastic lace holder thingies could be felt on the top of my foot. basically these thread on and the bottom of the product was too invasive. then when the elastic is tight (to hold your shoe on!) the posts lean inwards and make the aforementioned problem even worse. you could get around this by loosening the elastic somewhat, but at the point where the posts weren't leaning in the laces, in my experience, weren't tight enough.

anyway, my personal experience. other people may have had a different one.”

“I'm too cheap to buy this system & most of my
sneakers have "loops" so the posts probably wouldn't work. What I am thinking of is just buying 1/8" bungee cord & using that with a cinch.

I use leather clogs now since I slide my shoes on & off a lot. My thinking is that elastic laces would make this process easier & quicker when I'm wearing sneakers”

“that strikes me as WAY expensive for a silnylon single-wall tent. also i would think that condensation would be awful since silnylon is not the least bit breathable. i am not trying to dis yer tent, man, but on the surface this doesn't look like it will perform to the level of products of equivelant price.”

“Great tent, I like the wide side entrance (although bad for when its raining) and its about the same weight at my 2-person Tarptent. Freestanding, too. But yowza, what a price. This isn't vented anything like the Tarptents, though, and even they have condensation problems. This thing will be like waking up in a rainforest every morning.”

“REI is awesome for their refund policy, in which they pretty much will buy anything back regardless of how old it is, as long as you're a member. Their house brand is also really good, as many of those products are made by all your familiar leading suppliers, but just rebranded for REI. But if cost is your concern, you're probably better off looking elsewhere.

Places like Campmor almost always have lower-enough prices so that your delivered cost is still less than going to the REI to pick up the same thing. And there's no sales tax on any clothing products in New Jersey ;-)

“i bought a ton of tents for the boy scouts two years ago. good quality tents at a great price. i did not know they sold down bags... all the ones i saw were synthetic. i was not impressed with their packs... far heavier than you would expect and the fit was awkward... but this was on youn boys upon which most packs would no be a good fit. their service is great.”
